Job Description
Test Planning
Analyzes the context of requirements of an application under test
Determines the scope and the risks that need to be tested and that are NOT to be tested
Defines suitable test strategies and test activities to be done in obtaining desired test results
Identifies resources needed to execute the tests
Prepares test schedules and ensures that timelines are met as planned
Test Analysis
Analyzes the test basis relevant to the test strategies being considered (e.g. functional testing, end-to-end testing of process flow, integration or backend testing)
Identifies set of features to be tested based on the requirements or change requests
Defines and prioritizes test conditions based on level of risks associated with testing
Prepares draft traceability matrix between each requirement and test conditions
Test Cases Design
Designs and prioritize sets of test cases for execution
Identifies needed test data to support test conditions and test cases and ensures it is properly loaded in the test environment
Designs the test environment and identifies necessary setup and configuration, if any.
Finalize traceability matrix between the test basis, test conditions, and test cases
Test Execution
Executes test cases and compares actual results with expected results
Analyzes issues or problems to establish their likely causes
Reports defects based on the failures observed
Tracks the outcome of test execution
Repeat test activities in cycles either as a result of action taken for an anomaly, or as part of the planned testing
Updates traceability matrix between the test basis, test conditions, test cases, test procedures, and test results.
Test Completion
Reviews whether all defect reports are closed and handover all deferred defects to the project manager to include all unresolved defects at the end of test execution to be included on the next phase or next iteration
Creates a test summary report to be communicated to stakeholders and project team
Identify test cases to be re-used as regression test suite
Analyzes lessons learned from the completed test activities to determine changes needed for future iterations, releases, and projects
Uses the information gathered to improve test process maturity
Qualifications
At least 2 years experience in testing specifically Functional, Integration, Regression, Compatibility (mobile/desktop),User Acceptance Testing
Experience in working through multiple concurrent projects on a high-pressure environment
Strong in agile-based delivery management
Worked successfully in customer focused environment
Strong team leadership skills
Familiarity with business process improvement
Adept in building relationships and partnering with the business as well as strong communication skills
Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills
Strong understanding of manufacturing industry
Demonstrated leadership skills to influence key stakeholders and enable IT strategy development and implementation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to partner with the business
Demonstrated experience in business demand management and prioritization
Re-engineering/ process improvement experience, leading and coaching quality improvement projects
Additional Information
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Business, Information Systems or Computer Engineering or a related field
Preferably with Foundation Level certification from ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board)
