JOB DESCRIPTION
Team Phoenix is a global team based primarily out of Manila/Hyderabad, specializing in the development and maintenance of financial data research applications used by internal research analysts globally for the collection of our proprietary content, specifically Benchmarks Data. It is composed of highly talented and motivated individuals.
The team is responsible for developing and enhancing tools that solve problems on the production floor with a specific focus on Timeliness, Accuracy, Content, Coverage, and usability, and productivity of the operations. The team also develops common products that are integrated with many other internal tools.
You will be working with our full-fledged Scrum team, which deals with two-week Sprint iterations in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment. You will be exposed to a wide selection of technology stack from web services and databases to APIs and application integration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
FactSet is seeking a Python Developer along with good problem-solving skills to join our engineering team responsible for making our product more scalable and reliable.
Deliver high quality, reusable and maintainable code, perform Unit / Integration Testing of assigned tasks within the estimated timelines
Proactive in providing Technical solutions with effective communication & collaboration skills
Perform Code Reviews and ensure best practices are followed
Work in an agile team environment and collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth product delivery
Ownership of end-end product & Individual contribution
Performance Improvements with the help of metrics provided by automatic monitoring of product
Ensure the high stability of the product
Continuous Knowledge sharing internal & external of team
JOB REQUIREMENTS
3-5 years of overall industry experience.
Bachelor or master's degree in computer science
Minimum one year of experience in Python.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong experience and proficiency with Python, Pandas, Numpy.
Relational database experience, preferably with POSTGRES, MSSQL
Experience with GitHub-based development processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Organized, self-directed, and resourceful with the ability to appropriately prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS:
Work experience in C++
Work experience of Jupyter Notebooks
Experience with AWS environment, e.g., Amazon Kinesis, AWS Glue, Redshift, EC2, S3, Fargate, Lambda, EMR, etc.
Infrastructure as code using Terraform
Familiar with Agile software development (Scrum is a plus).
Experience working in Linux/Unix environment is desirable
