We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Asurion Pay team, responsible for building and maintaining critical payment systems powering payment transactions across five continents and 26 countries. The team owns payment collection, payouts, subscription management, and billing solutions, ensuring secure, reliable, and seamless experiences for customers and partners.As a Senior Engineer, you will design, develop, and scale payment services that process millions of transactions across regions, integrate with global payment providers, and support evolving business models. You will collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver solutions that balance technical excellence, business impact, and regulatory compliance.This is a high-impact opportunity to shape Asurion's global payments platform and influence product experiences for millions of customers worldwide.What You'll Do
Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable payment systems, including payment collection, payouts, subscriptions, and billing services
Lead end-to-end development of features, from technical design to production rollout, with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and security
Partner with product, finance, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Integrate with global payment processors and third-party providers while ensuring compliance with PCI DSS and other regulatory standards
Mentor and guide junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical leadership
Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy for the Payments platform
Champion best practices in observability, incident management, and regulatory compliance
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, with a strong focus on backend development
Hands-on proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and Docker (React is a plus).
Experience designing and building distributed systems with high availability and low latency requirements
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases
Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction
Background in financial systems, fintech, or e-commerce domains
Experience with regulatory frameworks like PSD2, PCI-DSS Lev
