Position Purpose
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reviewing various reports and transactions relating to the day-to-day dealings of clients. He/She will be responsible for ensuring that the reports/documents are delivered timely and accurately to the clients. The position will have an integral part in the financial reporting process of said clients. The candidate should be a fast learner with an excellent ability to digest new material, be able to work independently and timely, with excellent written and oral skills, and have the capabilities to work alongside team members in identifying issues and implement solutions as needed.
Responsibilities
Oversee compliance to timelines, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
Review (in some cases prepare) of financial statements and other required reports (e.g., payment instructions) for statutory and management purposes according to accounting requirements.
Monitor financial transactions and review supporting documentation.
Provide guidance to and review work of junior accountant/accountant/admin assistant.
Substantiates and justifies client transactions (and expense reports, when required)
Ad Hoc projects and requests, as required.
Performs other duties as may be required by the Partners.
Qualifications
The candidate must have proficient knowledge and qualifications in the following area:
The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology.
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to deliver quality work while adhering to strict deadlines
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and outstanding attention to detail
Proficiency in relevant accounting software and other applications, such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Preferably with more than 5 years work experience in the related field
