We are looking for someone with:
10+ years of similar experience.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline.
Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high-level languages, such as Java, JavaScript, or similar.
Experience with one or more of the following: Messaging (RabbitMQ, JMS, Service Bus), SQL queries and scripting, Shell Scripting/Power Shell/UNIX, Windows/ Bat Scripting.
Experience with Agile (Scrum or Kanban), Jira, and ServiceNow.
A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
Knowledge of financial services, specifically investment management.
You will stand out if you have:
2+ Years of People Leadership Experience.
Previous success in technical engineering or application support.
Coding experience beyond simple scripts.
Basic knowledge of on-site reliability engineers (SREs) concepts.
Experience with monitoring and alerting applications such as Moogsoft, Dynatrace, New Relic, or other similar tools.
On the job you will:
Lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers.
Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
Track and produce key metrics and develop strategies to increase efficiency.
Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
Measure and optimize system performance.
Provide primary operational support for multiple large, highly distributed software applications.
Work with business partners, and internal and external teams to debug or troubleshoot applications.
Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives.
