As a core member of our Product Support team you will work with dedicated professionals to ensure our clients maintain access to their critical information assets while keeping Citco ahead of industry trends.
Your Role:
The Sr. Oracle DBA will be part of a globally distributed Database Administration team responsible for a large Oracle footprint in data centers in North America and Europe and different database engines in the Cloud. In addition, this individual will assist with Cloud related technologies in day to day tasks from time to time. This individual will report to the Vice President of Infrastructure Services and is expected to work an augmented shift schedule on a routine basis.
About You:
Oracle Skills Required
Proficiency in the following areas relating to extreme performance tuning, troubleshooting, installation and patching and general configuration: Oracle Exadata Database Appliance, Oracle Database Appliance (ODA), Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM)
Proficient use with Oracle GoldenGate including installation, patching, parameter file configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, scripting
Linux/UNIX scripting for the purpose of automation. Autosys required. Ansible, Puppet, Chef are desirable, but not required.
Understanding the Cost-Based Optimizer (CBO) and how plans exist and can change. Use of sql baselines, sql profiles, patching as it relates to performance, init.ora parameter knowledge
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures using RMAN and Data Pump in conjunction with external technologies such as ZFS appliance, Data Domain, NetBackup
Experience with multi-tenancy including pluggable database cloning, installation, configuration
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges, enforce standards)
Perform in-depth database performance tuning and performance monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, performance scripting
Proficient use of Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control including installation, configuration, upgrade, maintenance, writing reports using OEM repository queries, creating corrective actions, monitoring configuration, incident management, performance tuning (SQL Tuning advisor, SQL Monitoring, etc.)
Perform application tuning and performance monitoring working in harmony with the application teams on how application functions and how the database can assist
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Experience with Incident, Request, Change Order Management and dealing with Service Level Agreement Management
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning). Reporting on space using OEM, ASM management
Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required including augmented shifting (off hour and weekend work expected)
Interface independently with Oracle Corporation for technical support, escalation, service request fulfillment.
Patch Management and Version Control
Experience with Cloud Technologies using OEM (IaaS, DBaaS) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Cloud Skills Required
AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate Level certification desired
Proficiency with RDS databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Aurora, SQL Server)
Proficiency using CloudWatch for performance and monitoring
Ability to analyze and create CloudFormation templates
Ability to work with Lambda
Python, JSON, YAML experience
Proficient use of DMS, DirectConnect and other services
Work with Oracle Cloud Services
Other Skills Required
MySQL experience desired
DBA Qualifications
May be certified as an Oracle DBA. See
