Preview, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for large-scale computer systems. Evaluate system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Provide expertise in software systems programming, operating software applications, consulting on complex projects/existing applications, timely completion of scheduled jobs, and overall operating systems. Also includes overseeing environments? Health and facilitation of high severity incidents to improve the state of service availability and continuity. Develop processes and activities that focus on restoring service after an incident occurs. Document all hardware, application, facility, etc. problems and take corrective action as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze and investigate
Provide explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
IT Infrastructure comprising of high end technology, wherein the accountability will include 24/7 running of Unix servers, consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Linux administrator having 5+ years of experience in UNIX operations support along with good experience on any of Bash, Perl, Python Scripting language
Experience of working on NFS servers
Experience working in an operational support role with an environment of 1000+ UNIX servers
Experience on DevOps tools such as CHEF
Good knowledge in LVM/VxVM
Basic working knowledge on VMWare, vSphere, Virtual Centers Operations
Veritas cluster (VCS) or RedHat Cluster or HACMP
Good knowledge about SAN concepts, setting-up, multi-pathing (device mapper) & troubleshooting SAN issues from the Linux OS side
Ability to troubleshoot servers through console
Knowledge of ILO/RAS/DRAC/HMC
Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of vSphere/Virtual Center
