Overview / Responsibilties
Purpose / Role:
Project focal point and maintenance engineering specialist for all Instrument and Controls equipment within the scope of the Project facilities, systems and equipment.
Deliver and support a strong HSSE culture
Work within budget and schedule limits
Assist other disciplines to achieve their goals
Support Management where required
Drive innovative solutions to reduce cost and schedule
Participate in relevant meetings and PEER Reviews
Take full cognizance of Health, Safety and Environmental issues
Liaise and interact with other disciplines to ensure overall project goals are met
Advise management of variations in a timely manner
Utilize suitable technology to increase efficiency
Ensure all work reflects the Project context - Brownfield / Greenfield
Support Lead Engineers supervising younger Designers and Draughtspersons
Drive and support training and development requirements for the team
Ensure all deliverables are aligned with company and client procedures and national standards
Keep up to date with latest procedures, client requirements and legislation
Key Aims and Objectives
Development of Instrument and Controls maintenance work instructions and procedures for the Instrument and Controls maintainable items
Production assets;
Offshore Platform; and
Export Pipeline.
Provide Instrument and Controls discipline maintenance engineering subject matter advice:
As a key participant of RCM and RBI Workshops including Asset Criticality Assignment
For Asset Integrity Management documentation development.
For spare parts evaluation activities
Prime Responsibilities and Duties
Asset Register
Verify the Upstream Gas Facilities, their Systems, Sub systems and Equipment Lists.
Asset Criticality and Maintenance Strategies Participate in RCM and RBI Workshops as a subject matter expert (as required)Participate in the assignment of asset criticality assignment
Participate in the assignment of asset criticality assignment
Maintenance Task Analysis
For the identified Maintenance Strategies
Identify Work Instructions and Maintenance Procedures requirements.
Identify if an existing procedure exists and modify as required for operational context.
Develop the required Maintenance Procedures (technical author)
Review Vendor recommended procedures and include details in Instrument and Controls Maintenance Procedures where appropriate.
Identify and develop specific and unique applicable maintenance needs i.e. Condition Monitoring, location of major repairs etc.
Asset Integrity Management
Participate and collaboratively develop (with the integrity specialist) the project required AIM documentation.
Develop and ensure emplementation of effective preservation techniques.
Spare Parts Evaluation
Participate in spare parts identification and holding levels determination
Use of staging database
Equipment data retrieval and update from and to database.
Allied Occasional Duties
Participate and work with the greater project team members in their activities. This is likely to be, but not limited to, the following:
Control, communication and training of the developed documentation.
MIMS, Maintenance Consolidation Tools and JDE implementation
Maintenance management process, systems and reporting and SERIP process implementation.
Preparation of "required information packs" to the project internal and external interfaces.
Retrieval and collation of technical data from client's information system.
Asset and Spare Parts Register
Key Inernational Interfaces
Operations Team Project Personnel
Maintenance Build Project Team Personnel.
Remote Support Teams within the project
Key Internal Interfaces
EPC Design Engineering Personnel
Stakeholders (external to the project)
Skills / Qualifications
Core Competencies
Proven Instrument and Controls Maintenance Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
Qualified Instrument and Controls Engineer - degree preferred
Professional (with maintenance engineering background preferred) with a minimum of 5-10 years of oil and gas industry experience at a relevant level required.
Successful candidate must work accurately and have adequate analytical skills with a feel for (fit for purpose) controls.
Able to assimilate information and prepare high quality briefing and presentation material.
Excellent skills in use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Information Management system.
Team player with good interpersonal skills. Independent, self-starter.
This position requires a motivated individual with good communicational skills and a ''can do'' attitude.
Good knowledge of relevant Regulations pertaining to Operations and Maintenance in the Oil and Gas industry
Must be fluent in English, spoken and written.
