Job Summary:
The Senior Category Manager is responsible for leading the strategic planning, execution, and performance management of assigned categories within the FMCG and/or beauty portfolio. This role will drive sales growth, profitability, and market share across digital and retail channels by leveraging market insights, data analytics, and strong cross-functional collaboration.Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement category strategies and annual business plans aligned with company objectives and growth targets
Conduct regular category performance reviews and competitor analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
Plan and manage the product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional calendars to optimize sales and profitability
Collaborate with marketing and e-commerce teams to execute category campaigns, online content strategies, and customer engagement initiatives
Manage supplier relationships, conduct annual negotiations, and develop joint business plans to strengthen partnerships
Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring availability while minimizing overstock and obsolescence
Track and analyze category KPIs (sales, margin, market share, inventory turnover) and provide actionable insights to senior management
Lead and mentor junior category managers or merchandisers to build category management capability within the team
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 57 years of experience in category management or merchandising within the FMCG, e-commerce, or beauty industries
Strong commercial and strategic planning skills, with proven experience driving category growth and profitability
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into business actions
Strong negotiation and vendor management experience
Solid understanding of digital commerce, retail operations, and customer behavior
Effective cross-functional collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Leadership experience, with the ability to coach and develop a high-performing team
