The DFSC Analyst Programmer is responsible for delivering quality software development and maintenance services in accordance with the Group's Software Development Life Cycle standard. The role performs medium complexity software development work.
Key Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining application software
a. Plans, Develop, test, maintain and debug programs in accordance with the Group's Software Development Life Cycle
b. Ensures that programs delivered operate according to functional and non-technical specifications
c. Critically reviews programs prior SIT or UAT, to verify consistency and conformance with established coding standards
d. Ensures that programs have minimal defects and have gone through agreed Quality Assurance checks
Provide 3rd level production support to investigate and resolve issues meeting service level agreements as required by the business.
Document procedures on the usage of applications to enable application support and management of computer operations
Participate in regular and ad-hoc client management meetings. Keeps his/her supervisor and management appraised of the progress of assigned projects and status of any problems on a regular basis.
Conduct application performance tuning to ensure performance criteria for the system are met
Ensure that software documentation (as per SDLC) is kept up-to-date and released as planned.
Technical Competencies
Knowledgeable in computer concepts and functionalities.
Proficient in Microsoft office.
Good understanding of Sales (POS), Bills Payment or other related applications.
Knowledgeable in Systems Analysis and Design.
Intermediate knowledge and ability to perform functional analysis and investigation in Oracle merchandising application or other retail applications.
Intermediate knowledge and ability to create SQL query using Oracle SQL tools (e.g. Toad, Oracle SQL Developer).
Knowledgeable in Shell/Perl Scripting.
Knowledgeable in Oracle Forms/Reports (6i, 10g)
With background in Oracle SQL/MS SQL development for Packages, Procedures, and Functions.
Knowledgeable and understands computer concepts in Windows.
Knowledgeable and understands computer concepts in UNIX/LINUX.
Hands on experience in developing Java/JEE.
Knowledgeable with JBoss, GlassFish, or other Java EE application servers.
Intermediate understanding on Client-Server Architecture.
Intermediate Knowledge in Oracle DB 9i/10g/11g.
Ability to perform code level investigation in Oracle SQL/MS SQL.
Knowledge in Oracle 12c is a plus.
