About the role
McConnell Dowell seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee financial management & reporting for their Philippines office. The role report to General Manager - Finance for the SEA region and ensures accurate financial information for in-country projects.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the accurate preparation and timely submission of monthly financial reports as required by the General Manager-Finance and Corporate Office including monthly MR6, Cash Flow Forecast (Weekly & Monthly), Management Accounts & Jedox Forecast reports.
Communicate with the General Manager of Finance and create necessary divisional reports, such as Overhead and Forex Analysis reports, as requested.
Preparation of Half Year and Full Year Pack and liaise with group auditors as required.
Ensure all General Ledger accounts are reconciled monthly, correct & current and properly presented in Blackline.
Ensure all in country statutory reporting obligations are met and complied with - (a) with the local tax office (BIR) for income tax, VAT, FBT, withholding taxes, registration and others; (b) SEC; including handling of any tax or any other regulatory audits or examinations.
Manage and reconcile all intercompany transactions.
Review weekly payments and upload in bank's portal.
Manage the company's cash resources, maintain relationship with banks and provide necessary documents for opening/updating/closing of bank accounts.
Consolidation and preparation of annual country budgets.
Provide assistance during external audit.
Supports Commercial/Procurement Managers and project on AP documentary tax requirements and payment queries.
Maintain books of accounts of Filanz Corporate Holdings (MDPI Parent Company).
Provide assistance on documentary requirements for renewal of company registrations (PCAB Licence & Business Permit), tenders and pre-qualifications.
Ensure accounting standards, administration procedures and internal controls per the McConnell Dowell policies are followed and complies with.
Take cost management initiatives.
Other duties as directed by management from time to time.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have;
Completed a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, preferably CPA.
More than 5 years financial or professional accounting experience.
Sound understanding and application of accounting standards.
Exposure to BIR audits and tax compliances.
