Job Description
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Senior Accountant will be involved in the day to day operations of the Divisional Finance Team and be across some of the more complex tasks such as related to project accounting, account reconciliation, and various management reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project/OH expenses, project revenue recognition, WIP and Debtors in coordination with Manager. Prepare/update related reports as requested
Work with Manager in identifying variances between actual financial results, forecast and budget
Liaise directly with Local Finance Managers, Project Managers, Corporate, Helpdesk and other Stakeholders to ensure no irregular transactions come through before monthly system close
Consolidate quarterly forecast and annual budget submission. Liaise with regional finance as appropriate
Analyse and review the monthly financial statements and account reconciliation of the subsidiary companies within SEA. Coordinate with FMs on any action items. Escalate any irregular item
Update monthly management report working files such as related to joint divisional management report, flash report, SEA finance presentation, operational report, foreign exchange, cash flow etc.
Prepare project plan review report for SEA and distribute to RMs following discussion with Manager
Review project plan and or reflect revisions in consultation with project manager, regional manager and SEA divisional finance manager where needed
Coordinate monthly regional performance review meetings
Prepare various divisional reports as requested by Australia and SG HQ
Initiate "process changes" as necessary and upon approval of the Manager and Finance Director
Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's/College Degree in Accountancy, with at least 3 years solid working experience in Finance/Accounting, particularly General Accounting.
Must have at least 1-year experience in Management reporting
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software or financial reporting software is a plus.
Candidate should have sound Finance and Accounting skills, including knowledge of best practices on any or all areas of accounting such as AR, AP, Cash, and Reconciliation.
Can work with minimal supervision and has a leadership potential.
Ability to cope with ambiguity and change and maintain high level of professionalism when working under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills within a multi-cultural business environment
