Organization & Department Overview
The Information Services Group (ISG) is responsible for providing authoritative sources of reference data to our clients across the Institutional Client Services (ICG) organization, through implementing state of the art technologies and operational processes which promote the collection, storage, analysis, and distribution of product, pricing, account and corporate action data. The ISG organization works in partnership with data clients across all ICG business lines, deploying solutions to increase their competitiveness, through restructuring business processes, simplifying information access, and providing business intelligence around critical data.
The Business Analyst will be responsible for driving automation solutions and process reengineering within the Information Services Group (ISG) and Institutional Client Group (ICG). For the initial project on the team, the business analyst will partner with key internal stakeholders (Operations, Technology, Banking, Markets, Commercial Bank, TTS, Compliance and Risk) and be part of the ISG team to drive end-to-end delivery on a Front-to-Back strategy for Credit Risk service model with the focus on syndicated loans portfolio that fully supports, satisfies and anticipates the reporting needs of the business and our regulators. Future projects may span other areas outside of Credit Risk and will provide solutioning and automation of key technology initiatives.
The role requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of multiple systems and practices related to the Credit Risk and loans management. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is very beneficial. S/He will aid in the management of medium to long term plans and execute functional strategies for complex regional and country structures requiring coordination and integration across units. S/He will provide input into strategic decisions affecting the various function within a region or business.
The right candidate will be able to quickly develop an understanding of the strategic direction of the Credit Risk function within the ICG business and be flexible in order to also develop a strong understanding of other ICG functions for future subsequent projects. The candidate is expected to participate in regulatory execution focused on initiatives such as of SNC (Shared National Credit) and WCR (Wholesale Credit Risk) initially.
Job Description
Manage multiple business analysis projects at the same time across several working groups
Own execution of projects, end to end, to drive operational efficiency including Data Quality, completeness, data lineage, and data coverage
Serve as the "translator" for requirements provided by the business so that Technology has clear direction on what to implement. This requires an understanding of business processes and products, understanding of technology needs and data analytics, strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, etc.
Assist in high priority regulatory ad hoc projects across their lifecycle by identifying and structuring problems, analyzing root causes, developing solutions, and communicating project results
Collect and document requirements, data structure information, system flows, and current state dependencies
Communicate closely with business partners to collectively define requirements
Independently query data from multiple relational databases to validate requirements
Work closely with IT and Operations partners to granularly define requirements and create systemic and/or manual processes to satisfy the defined business requirements
Perform analysis activities with the goal of generating logical solutions to existing problems or enhancements, identifying data quality issues, automating manual processes, etc.
Create and manage project plans across complex cross functional teams
Aid in project management requirements & in generation of project reporting, including some PTS-W required documentation and reporting
Record meeting summaries and follow-up actions for distribution to relevant stakeholders
Track your independent progress as well as the holistic progress of the Cross Functional Business Analysis team for the project at hand
Generate presentations for senior management to provide program status updates in collaboration with the ISG teams
Work closely with execution, operations and stakeholders to satisfy project deliverables and milestones within the provided deadlines
Effectively partner with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across Risk types and Businesses to promote a more integrated approach to regulatory relations
Demonstrates ability to identify potential risk issues that need escalation and escalates them promptly

Strong analytical and writing skills, including experience in writing business requirements and/or functional specifications
Strong teamwork skills that can span across different geographic locations

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or other similar degrees
Greater than 3 years of relevant work experience
Experience working with financial data and have a baseline understanding of financial instruments, especially those related to loans
Willingness to quickly learn new concepts around financial instruments and processes to quickly move up the learning curve of new projects
Experience in an analytics or development role utilizing relational databases with SQL
Experience working closely with IT and development teams
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Visio
Experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, business systems development and analysis
Foundational knowledge of Python a plus
Awareness of general concepts/ principles of risk management (credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, strategic risk and/or capital markets and finance) is a plus
An understanding of institutional client loans origination and operational management is a plus
