Principal Responsibilities:
The analyst will be part of the Credit Limit & Exposure Monitoring team, and proactively monitors exposures, undertakes analyses/investigations, where required, to ensure that exceptions are properly escalated and steps are taken to resolve them. It involves interacting with different teams such as Markets, Business, Operations, Legal, Systems Support Teams, as well as Risk Managers.
Coordinate with other departments and various levels of management regarding credit risk reporting issues, including investigating data quality issues and resolving reporting errors.
Serve as a subject matter expert in as far as exceptions monitoring is concerned, and be able to develop and implement actions toward resolving such exceptions as warranted.
Identify policy and procedural gaps and be able to propose corrective action.
Demonstrate an ability to resolve internal and external audit issues and to interpret information requests from regulators.
Support Risk Managers on exception-related responsibilities and ad hoc requests.
Assist in the month-end adjustment process for PSE exposures to enhance data quality.
Assist in the preparation of Regional and Global escalation reports and be able to communicate specific circumstances behind the exceptions.
Participate in enforcing the relevant controls and appropriate self-assessment (MCA) testing.
Communicate with the technology on technical issues encountered and find a solution.
Assist in working toward a consistent approach for the limit monitoring function within the region and aligned on a global level.
Develop an understanding of how financial and capital markets transactions, including derivative and foreign exchange trading, generate risk exposure and how these affect extensions of credit.
Manage assigned projects in a timely manner, ensuring that required deliverables are met.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in other areas of Risk.
Train/coach colleagues to ensure quality of output and consistency of standards and processes.
Qualifications:
4 - 8 years of experience in Credit Risk or related field
Graduate of Business-related courses, preferably Economics, Accounting or Finance
Strong academic background
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment as well as independently
Knowledge of capital markets products and other corporate banking products
Highly attentive to details, while being able to work under pressure and deliver timely and accurate results.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Strong quantitative/database management skills (Microsoft Excel, MS Access)
Attention to detail and ability to recognize reporting and processing errors
Must have a pro-active approach to problem solving and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Be able to demonstrate a great deal of resourcefulness and ability to gather, synthesize and present findings from different sources.
Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deliverables
