Job Description
The Risk Manager's main responsibility is to maintain, manage and execute a comprehensive program for Enterprise Risk Management (covering Operational Risk Management and Project Risk Management) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Program. This includes overseeing processes for identifying, assessing, evaluating, monitoring and reporting risks and ESG initiatives that may have a potential impact on the organizational performance.
He/she will assist in establishing and maintaining a collaborative partnership with the Food Group Business Units, Food Group Philippines and the AEV Risk Management Team in implementing existing and future risk management initiatives.
Supervise and monitor the performance of direct reports.
Enterprise Risk Management Duties
Develops, implements and maintains an ERM framework and supporting policies and procedures.
Ensures documentation of ERM life cycle and related systems, policies, procedures and processes are updated and complete.
Develops and oversees learning and awareness activities that are aligned with the established risk management philosophy and culture within the organization.
Takes the lead in the preparation of risk management reports including but not limited to the following:
Presentations to Food Group Board and Excom
Risk management plans
Top operational risks
Risk maps
Risk metrics
Oversees overall Food Group business units' compliance on risk management deliverables but not limited to the following:
Risk management plans
Risk metrics dashboard
Risk learning modules
Regularly reviews and ensures consistent implementation of established risk assessment methodologies, models and systems.
Provides guidance to business units with the identification, evaluation, management and communication of significant risk and opportunities.
Ensures proper utilization of standard tools and techniques in the identification of risks across the Food Group.
Conducts detailed analysis and data mining to identify, validate and consolidate existing and emerging risks.
Keeps abreast with the new developments and advances on the enterprise risk management industry practices, quality and environmental management technology through magazines/periodicals, and attendance to relevant seminars and conferences.
Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) Duties
Oversees preparation and coordinates with internal stakeholders to secure information necessary for the Food Group's ESG reports:
Food Group Sustainability Report - identifying material topics with the Food Group's business and operations
Emerging ESG issues and trends
ESG Reports and Ratings - updating of information on the ratings placed by ESG Raters
Assists the ESG TWG in the proper implementation of the sustainability framework across the Food Group by identifying, evaluating and monitoring reputation issues to mitigate risk.
Helps promote a proactive and dynamic perspective in monitoring and handling all known and emerging risks, risk trends and mitigation strategies that may affect ESG compliance.
Oversees implementation of a systematic, clear and credible approach to fulfilling its social and environmental responsibilities to avoid exposure to reputational risks.
Become familiar with the Committee mandate and obtain an understanding of the detailed responsibilities of Committee membership as well as the Food Group's business and operations.
Represents the Food Group in the regular Committee member meetings and actively participates and performs the following duties and responsibilities of a committee member:
Act honestly and in good faith with a view of promoting the best interest of all stakeholders
Exercise the care, diligence and skills that a reasonably prudent person would exercise in comparable circumstances
Regularly attend Committee/TWG meetings
Effectively contribute during discussions
Willingly offer alternative viewpoints to reflect own personal experiences and opinions
Constructively engage with the CEAO, CFO and any other senior leader of the Company, who may be consulted for the purpose of the Committee/TWG being better informed or better positioned to offer the Company a more reliable recommendation
Maintain external confidentiality related to details of Committee/TWG discussion, including the individual views of members other than as agreed for formal communication to the Company and/or Senior Management by the Committee as a whole
Seek to find ways to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Committee/TWG, taking any suggestions related to this to the Committee Chairperson for his consideration
Be prepared to receive and act upon any feedback received through the Committee/TWG Chairperson on ways that the member might improve performance as a Committee member
Others:
Develops work assignments, formulate performance standards and monitor performance of defined deliverables.
Facilitates review and completion of risk management and ESG reports delivered by team members.
Conducts performance evaluations and ensure continuous development for team members.
Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management etc.
Performs other tasks related to the job as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Checks and updates the documentation of risk management systems, policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures in line with the Food Group's standard documentation system.
Oversees and manages risk management activities such as, but not limited to the following:
Operational risk assessments
Risk management plan validation and reviews
Risk management training and workshops
Risk reviews
Risk Management TWG monthly meetings
Performs other tasks as maybe assigned from time to time.
Appointed membership to committees whenever necessary.
Participates in current and futures business initiatives such as Partners in Leadership, Risk Management, Safety, ISO, Branding, 5S, etc.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of 4-Year course related to any of the followings:
Accountancy
Business Management
Financial Management
Industrial Engineering
Experience:
Preferably at least 5 years of relevant work experience in enterprise risk management program implementation and governance and at least 2 years of relevant work experience in ESG. Knowledge in Business Continuity Management, ISO 3001 and Information Security Management is an advantage.
Licenses:
PARIMA-Certified Risk Professional or other risk management certification is a plus
