POSITION TITLE: Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
PROJECT: Building Safe Agricultural Food Enterprises (B-SAFE)
REPORTS TO: MEL Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will lead the conduct of Special Studies and related research initiatives to support the technical implementation of the project. The post will also support project monitoring and evaluation through desk review of progress and well as field monitoring of project activities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Leads the conduct of Special Studies for the project and other technical research requirements by coordinating with technical staff on research requirements, identifying expertise required for its conduct and leading the process of data gathering and analysis
Develops Terms of References for consultancy services required for the research
Gathers data, prepares draft reports, and facilitates review of the research by technical team and/or COP.
Works with Communication and Learning Officer in packaging the results of the studies
Provides support on the monitoring and evaluation of the project by assisting in regular data collection, entry, and analysis and documentation of project lessons learned
Supports the preparation of monthly updates for B-SAFE staff and USDA
Provides technical support in packaging of project proposals/briefs under Activities 4 and 5.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the technical team in conducting analysis
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Communication Research, or related field
Minimum 3 years' experience in research, data management, policy analysis and related activities for development projects
Experience working on USG funded projects, experience with USDA projects preferred.
Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements:
Demonstrated experience on agricultural research
Strong analytical and writing skills
Ability to work in team and have good interpersonal communication skills.
Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Excellent written and spoken English skills.
