Job title: Real Estate Accountant
Salary range: 1000-1600 USD/month (the salary will depend on the result of the interviews, assessments, and client's approval)
Schedule: Flexible but needs some overlap with EST
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare all aspects of the financial statement package, including creating and posting journal entries, detailed general ledger account review and completion of all backup schedules needed, including footnotes.
Create and prepare ancillary schedules including depreciation, amortization, work in process, capital and rent analysis.
Review variances in financial statements and document explanations for significant items.
Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure all reconciling items are resolved in a timely manner.
Reconciliation of balance sheet and P&L accounts.
Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Ensure all vendor, debt, real estate tax and insurance payments are made in a timely manner and all work papers are updated and maintained.
Assist with special projects and due diligence as requested.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in real estate accounting
Proficiency in Excel
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or another quantitative field
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and comfortable managing multiple work streams and projects concurrently.
Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to be resourceful to find solutions.
Ideal:
Experience with Property Management software preferred (Rent Manager a plus)
Preferably has some local relevant certification in accounting (CPA equivalent)
