Job Description
Job Objective
Together with and under the supervision of the QA Manager, the Quality Systems and Processes (QSP) Specialist leads the effective implementation of the quality and food safety processes and management systems within the assigned business unit (BU) and/ or site.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Contributes to the development of BU and/or site-specific plans aligned with the plans of the BU and of Corporate Quality.
Designs, drives/ supports and monitors implementation, and continually improves quality and food safety-relevant processes for the BU and/or site. Ensures that such processes are aligned with Corporate policies, standards, and guidelines, and are compliant to statutory and regulatory requirements.
Designs, drives/ supports and monitors implementation, and continually improves the BU's/ site's quality, food safety, and religion-based management systems, aligned to Corporate policies, standards and guidelines, statutory and regulatory standards, and to internationally-recognized standards to which the organization subscribes (e.g ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal).
Provides inputs relevant to the creation of Corporate-driven initiatives.
Responsible for driving quality and food safety awareness, sustaining engagement, and for providing necessary trainings to strengthen the BU's/ site's capability to effectively implement established processes and systems.
Develops local culture-building programs to continually improve the BU's/ site's quality maturity.
Together with the Team Leader, leads and monitors the local implementation of Corporate-driven initiatives within his/ her assigned BU/ site.
Provides assistance to the BU/ site in ensuring that quality and food safety-relevant processes and systems meet needs and expectations of external interested parties (e.g. customers, consumers, suppliers, tollers, government and regulatory agencies).
Works with relevant stakeholders to facilitate consistent and effective implementation of established processes and systems, as well as local programs, and ensures that evidences of implementation are properly documented and retained.
Performs verification activities such as GMP and GWP inspections, process audits, quality and food safety management systems audits (also called internal audits), and (as applicable/ necessary) toller, distribution center, and store assessments.
Monitors implementation of established programs, processes and systems and reports on the performance of the BU/ site.
Works with relevant stakeholders for the review, maintenance and updating of the quality and food safety components of the Integrated Management System.
Supports the Team Leader in creating and promoting improvements in the established quality and food safety processes and management systems to other teams.
Assists in ensuring that corrective actions are formulated and implemented based on established criteria and according to the established process.
Actively participates in the risk review of the QSP Team (Corporate and BUs)
Serves as the BU's/ site's Subject Matter Expert (SME) on process documentation, document management, GMP, GWP, HACCP, quality, food safety and religion-based management systems, internal audit, and corrective action/ problem solving process.
Occasionally performs tasks to support Corporate Quality activities (e.g. site visits, issue investigation, IMCR)
Assists the Team Leader in document management, corrective action management, and enabling management reviews of the BU/ site.
Proactively seeks updates on current local and international regulations and potential changes that will impact the BU's/ site's quality objectives, risks, strategies, processes, and systems. Communicates appropriately to involved or affected parties.
Other Responsibilities
Complies with company and regulatory standards and policies for quality, food safety, Halal, environment, health, and safety, as well as to internationally-recognized management system standards to which the organization subscribes.
Responsible for reporting problems/ issues related to quality, food safety, Halal, environment, health, safety, and management systems to identified authorities.
Actively participates in relevant company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management etc.
Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Qualifications
Education:
Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or any Science and Technology course.
Experience:
At least 2 years in Quality or Food Safety Systems in the Food Manufacturing Industry
With relevant experience in Process and systems design/ development and auditing.
Licenses:
Preferred. Food Safety Compliance Officer (FSCO) certification is an advantage
