Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist is to execute food safety programs of Poultry Farms and Egg Grading-Packing Facility and Swine Farms. It includes daily pre-operation inspections, quality checks, food safety training, GMP & SSOP completion, HACCP coordination, monitoring & verification of CCPs of the plant and Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP) of the farms. The QA Specialist also ensures that the farms' products, processes and services meet the desired quality levels at all times.
POULTRY FARMS, SWINE FARMS, EGG GRADING PLANT:
Implements and maintains all corporate food safety related strategies, policies and procedures; maintains open communication with all related departments to address the identification of food safety hazards and process improvement opportunities.
Works with the Operations team to ensure compliance with applicable Food Safety regulatory requirements.
Implements Good Animal Husbandry Practices (GAHP) in all Swine and Poultry Farms.
Establishes, manages, enforces and maintains the Farms Operating Quality Manual.
Prepares and reviews inspection plans, standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Implements 5S programs and initiatives in all sites.
Implements and maintains the internal auditing programme, assessing the performance of the quality system, reporting its effectiveness to the management and proposing actions for improvement.
Leads the Farm Operations team during the Third and Second party Audits such as Customers, Quality and Food Safety Certifying bodies, Bureau of Animal Industry and Other Regulatory bodies.
Implements and maintains the Customer Complaint Management, Document Control, Product Recall and Traceability processes.
Provides continual education and oversight to all employees, business partners and other third parties to ensure consistent implementation of plans, strategies and programs.
Provides collaborative leadership to achieve quality processes and its execution covering farms operations end to end value chain.
Attends and participates in Farm Operations meetings to ensure that food safety and quality requirements are being taken into consideration.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual compliance and other technical reports.
EGG GRADING-PACKING PLANT:
Implements HACCP Plan and Pre-requisite Programs (PRPs) in the Egg Grading Plant.
Performs CCP and PRPs validation, monitoring and verification activities.
Conducts incoming materials, in-process and finished products inspections based on established inspection plan.
Implements product hold and release programs by ensuring product is not released without prior approval and documentation.
Determines the acceptability and final disposition of raw materials, in-process and finished product and conducts necessary action relative to result of test such as rejection, reprocessing or downgrading of non-conforming products.
FOOD SAFETY:
Ensures execution of quality, health and food safety policy, standards and regulations within the team.
Responsible for reporting problems related to the food safety & quality management system to identified authorities.
Taking accountability for the effectiveness of the Integrated Management System and religious requirements
Ensuring that the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives are established for the Integrated Management System and are compatible with the context and strategic direction of the organization;
Ensuring the integration of the quality management system requirements into the organization's business processes;
Promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking;
Ensuring that the resources needed for the quality management system are available;
Communicating the importance of effective quality management and of conforming to the quality management system requirements;
Ensuring that the quality management system achieves its intended results;
Engaging, directing and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system;
Promoting improvement;
supporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their areas of responsibility.
OTHER TASKS:
Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management etc.
Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Qualifications
Education:
Must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine, Food Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, Nutrition or any Science and Technology course.
Experience:
At least 3-5 years relevant experience in the Food/Feed Industry.
Licenses:
Preferred but not required
