Responsibilities

Follows software testing corporate standards.
Keeps stakeholders updated with testing status.
Creates test scenarios and test cases.
Test Planning and Execution * Performs test planning activities as required.
Creates and modifies test cases.
Creates and modifies automated test scripts.
Creates and modifies test data.
Executes test cases and records results in test management system.
Defect Management * Identifies software defects.
Creates and manages assigned defects in defect management system.
Determines defect severity based upon corporate standards.
Works with Agile team and stakeholders to communicate defect information.
Retests defect when issue has been resolved.
Provides additional system analysis documentation to software engineers as required.
Qualifications
Preferred Skills * Prior experience in the insurance industry and ideally within a Finance environment
IT software testing certification.
IT Agile certification.
Required Skills/Experience
Skills and Competencies: * Solid understanding of software quality assurance testing concepts, methods and practices in an information technology environment.
Solid understanding of principles and practices associated with agile product model environment.
Solid understanding of SQL and ability to use SQL tools to query a database to retrieve data.
Experience with Windows, Web Applications and/or Web Service environments.
Solid experience using JIRA or similar agile tools.
Solid experience with multiple testing tools that may include the following: MABL, XRAY, Functional Testing (UFT), xunit, Selenium, and SOAP UI.
Solid experience of following company policies and regulations.
REST API testing experience
Qualifications and Experience:
Required * Minimum of 3 years of software testing experience.
Solid understanding of agile quality assurance.
Experience using test automation tools.
Experience building automation scripts using automation framework.
Education
4-year degree in Information Technology or related field.
