PURCHASING COORDINATOR
 
Department: Purchasing
Reports To: Purchasing Lead
 
Position Summary
 
This role involves coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, project managers, and other stakeholders to support the company's operational and project requirements. The Purchasing Coordinator ensures that purchasing activities align with company standards, budgetary guidelines, and compliance requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure quality and reliability of services.
Track and monitor delivery schedules, resolving delays and discrepancies as necessary.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
Research and assess potential contractors, verifying their qualifications, experience, and ability to meet project requirements.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure contractor services are effectively integrated into project workflows.
Coordinate between subcontractors and the company to ensure that project details and requirements are properly communicated and understood.
Conduct follow-ups and site visits to subcontractors to monitor progress, compliance, and performance.
Provide regular procurement updates, and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination.
Strong knowledge of purchasing processes, vendor management, and contract administration.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with ERP or purchasing systems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to conduct site visits and liaise directly with subcontractors and suppliers.
Knows how to drive/ possess a driver's license.
