Position Overview: As part of the General Ledger group, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial reporting process for our e-commerce business. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze financial data, and contribute to the company's strategic financial decisions.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and contribute to the generation of timely and accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Month-end Close: Assist in the month-end close process, including reconciling accounts, journal entries, and accruals, to ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
Reconciliation: Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing and analyzing transactions, ensuring proper coding and classification.
Fixed Assets: Manage the fixed asset accounting process, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations.
Variance Analysis: Assist in analyzing financial results and variances, providing insights into the underlying drivers of business performance.
Internal Controls: Support the implementation and adherence to internal control procedures, contributing to a strong control environment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the record-to-report function.
Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation and responding to inquiries during internal and external audits.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, operations, and other relevant departments to ensure accurate and complete financial data capture and reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or related roles, preferably within an e-commerce or retail environment.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting processes.
Proficiency in using accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.
Experience with process improvement initiatives is advantageous.
