A. Job Objectives
1. Assist the Production Manager in the overall management and coordination of the entire production operations in carrying out company plans and objectives
2. Source, negotiate and strike contracts with suitable Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to achieve optimal pricing for equipment parts of existing and newly acquired production lines/equipment
3. Plan, coordinate and manage contracted OEM Partners to adhere to the contract terms and conditions to achieve our planned targets as per Marketing and Sales Department requirements; to resolve operational materials supply and quality problems with them, on a timely and amicable condition as they arise
4. Oversee, review, recommend implementations of process improvements and methods that can impact improvements in machine efficiency and lower down production cost, resulting in energy savings and/or lessen machine downtimes and changeovers
5. Conduct studies, research, develop and initiate production trials to check on the viability, suitability and adaptability of new products to be developed considering machine capacity, machine capability and other constraints of the production process and operations
B. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the periodic reports as may be required by management (Minutes of Meetings, Operations Meetings updates)
2. Acts as the key contact/liaison person with contracted OEM in the effective execution of equipment related plans
3. Evaluates new process or equipment required for New Product Development at factory site
4. Reviews and studies existing products and processes and explores ways and means that can improve machine efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining adherence to product standard specifications on quality and food safety
5. Proposes new machines and equipment to improve and/or replace existing process units or production lines for efficiency and cost saving goals
6. Provides liaison support to Engineering Department with contractors or third party suppliers (local and overseas) for new machines or equipment
7. Provides project schedules for new equipment or machines and related utilities tied-in to minimize production disruption
8. Provides support to Engineering Department for Purchase Order review and Project CARs for submission to the next level approvals
9. Provides support to R&D Department to conduct research, formulate and develop new products and/or improve existing products
10. Conducts studies and assesses process and machine capabilities, utilization and machine constraints
11. Constantly reviews existing product processes and methods to meet changing needs to improve quality, reduce cost and improve production process
12. Coordinates, discusses and reviews with suppliers and other outside groups for technical assistance on special problems
13. Coordinates with Engineering, Maintenance and Production for equipment and machine specification requirements, selection of designs and in trial runs of new equipment for commissioning and/or new products being developed
14. Reviews and evaluates processing of products, methods and standards, conducts production trials, start up and assessment of new machine operations
15. Conducts analysis of the existing and future production capacity needs to determine areas for improvement and recommends solutions to emerging problems and requirements
16. Designs, documents and implements a system that will result in more efficient and effective processes
17. Performs other tasks to be assigned anywhere in the Philippines where the company will require the services and be transferred from one location or assignment to another as operational and/or career development requirements may warrant
Must be a Bachelor's Degree holder or an Engineering Graduate (Chemical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer)
Specialized knowledge
Preferably with SAP or Oracle system experience
Well versed in Mixing, Refining and Conching process of compound couverture / paste
Moulding, Enrobing, Panning, Bagging, Packing and Wrapping process oriented
At least 5 years experience in a manufacturing firm preferably in confectionery or food industry (compound & or real chocolate)
Food safety management
Must have trainings in different aspects of GMP, HACCP, FSMS, FSSC ver. 4.1
Production and factory management oriented
