Objectives of the position:
To provide market intelligence for category strategy development, execute local supplier management, and provide field support for global and regional categories.
To act as internal business partner at BASF Philippines in sourcing and procuring items or services that requires contract.
Main Areas of Responsibilities:
Provide market intelligence for category strategy development of global and regional categories, including requirements of assigned sites.
Understand site-specific needs and agreeing on measures and projects, providing input to business unit target agreement, and driving implementation with business unit account managers, category buyers and local procurement representatives.
Prepare and execute Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quote (RFQ), and Request for Bid (RFB), and, in applicable cases, endorses such requests to shared service center for execution.
Define buying guide based on regional and global guidelines; and evaluate incoming offers and, if applicable, performs bonus/malus evaluation.
Determine optimal negotiation, and awards goods/services package to supplier(s) while ensuring alignment with functional hierarchy if required.
Manage contracts including supply issues and decides on appropriate actions to ensure satisfaction of requirements of assigned sites. Act as an escalation point to plants and shared service center for non-conformance management.
Act as the contact for local compliance issues ensuring compliance to local regulations.
Approve purchase orders and contracts in SAP; collects required documents from supplier(s) for master data processes.
Perform assigned source-to-contract activities with set targets and boundaries of the category buyer.
Identify suppliers and develops suppliers on the request of global and regional categories.
Coordinate small capital expenditure projects in alignment with relevant category buyers.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required:
Degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related courses.
With minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in procurement in multi-national companies.
Knowledgeable of procurements concepts and methodologies.
Knowledgeable of SAP R/3 Cobalt, SAP Business Warehouse, Strategic Procurement Suite.
Knowledgeable of suppliers, market environment, products and technologies in relevant areas applicable to a chemical company.
With excellent planning, project management and negotiation skills.
Possess very good communication skills, written and verbal.
Have good organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and ability to multitask and prioritize work.
Demonstrate leadership, professionalism and integrity at work.
