About the Role
Assisting clients with their financial reporting and tax obligations in both an independent as well as in a team environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
. Client Accounting Services:
Preparation of all types of tax returns (individual, sole trader, company, trusts and SMSF) for our clients
Preparation of the Financial Statements - BAS/IAS/PAYG for all client types
Liaising directly with the accountant to assist in response to client queries
Drafting of emails to clients as required
Identify potential issues or opportunities in day-to-day work and raise these with the team leader
Assisting with research to interpret Tax Legislation
. Business Development:
Participating in and contributing to team meetings.
Assist accountants and team leaders with the completion of special assignments or projects as requested.
Contributes to process improvements and implementation of the
Minimum Qualifications:
. Secondary education required
. Relevant tertiary degree
. Interest in studying Chartered Accountant (CA)
Required Experience:
. 2+ years experience in Australian accounting
. Adept at learning new IT programs
. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
. Experience with the Xero App suite is highly regarded but not essential
Skills:
. Multitasking across several jobs and prioritizing as necessary
. Strong focus on learning, have a drive to learn and progress your skills to take on more complex work as
you become more experienced, with a willingness to take on feedback for continuous improvement
. Exceptional communication skills (both written & verbal)
. Strong attention to detail and accuracy

. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
