Main Job Purpose:
The Port Operations oversees all port operations-related activities of Unilever Philippines and Unilever RFM Ice Cream. His/her basic function focuses on Import and Export Clearance Processing, Bureau of Customs Health Check, and Import and Export Regulatory Permit Applications.
The main objective of the job is to ensure smooth clearances for all importation and exportation activities of all Unilever business units (BUs) without sacrificing on-time arrival and cost. In the area of customs health check, it is also his/her responsibility to ensure that proper documentation is done for all import and export transactions and that all these documents are easily accessible if requested by BOC.
The role will also be in charge of monitoring import and export KPIs, ensuring that proper solutions and plans are in place to attack root causes for KPI hits. In doing so, he/she works closely with brokers, freight forwarders, overseas agents, and other key business partners.
Key Accountabilities:
Import and Export Clearance:
Ensures smooth running of end-to-end processes to achieve high levels of on-time arrivals at optimal costs.
Tracks broker's KPIs and instils discipline in them to ensure on-time compliance to deadlines and requirements
Serves as the point person in monitoring of critical export and imports for all internal customers
Addresses issues relating to import and export shipments, such as documents availability, price difference, regulatory concerns, payment issues, etc
Coordinates with ULP warehouse team on concerns with import unloading
Ensures all import CVs are unloaded within 24 hours from arrival at Mega-DC
Leads discussions on process improvements and digitization of current import and export ways of working
Closely coordinates with planners for urgent shipments and unloading prioritization
Updates stakeholders of shipment status starting from pick-up of goods at origin
Pushes for on-time submission of broker and shipping line invoice to ensure on-time booking by Finance. Works closely with Finance team to ensure all costs are forecasted and accrued accordingly.
Ensures CV and booking availability for Export Operations
Liaises with the Global Procurement Team on sea freight contract and air freight pricing
Bureau of Customs Health Check:
Pushes for correct and on-time encoding of shipment details in impex system. Ensures all documents are uploaded by broker on-time in ULP repository.
Ensures that accurate data is maintained in the impex system by doing monthly reconciliation with Finance.
Ensures that ULP and URIC is always up to date with customs regulations
Ensure that ULP and URIC SGL+ accreditation is maintained
Pushes for continuous improvement of internal processes and systems
Ensures correct declaration of duties and taxes
Regulatory Permit Applications:
Works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that all documents and regulatory requirements are completed before any import and export movement
Serves as the expert on all import and export regulatory requirements for ULP and URIC
Ensures that ULP and URIC is always up to date with changes in regulatory rules
Other Responsibilities:
Close monitoring of misc. freight cost (incremental airfreight, storage, demurrage and detention) and monthly update to stakeholders on YTD view.
Leads initiatives to decrease misc. freight costs and avoid incidental cost like detention and demurrage
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures for the export business
Drives implementation and support the following key corporate initiatives: ICDOT, DOH reduction for export stocks, Container utilization, TP variance improvement
Qualifications:
Experience in PH importation and/or exportation in an FMCG company for 1 to 3 years.
Bachelor's degree holder
Amenable for a Project Based Contract for 8 months.
Has Commercial acumen and cross functional business process knowledge
Experience on SAP ERP, APO
