Position Responsibilities
Assist with project management to ensure other software engineers on the team meat their deadlines, with an excellent level of quality and security
Design enterprise class, secure, scalable, robust, reliable solutions
Work closely with other engineering teams as necessary and help ensure constant communication between teams is maintained
Provide technical leadership to other team members
Act as a role model to and help mentor other developers
Write professional quality, secure, well designed, user friendly, efficient, maintainable code
Develop System solutions in AWS (creating, configuring and terminating AWS Resources, as needed while remaining alert and cautious to avoid impact to other systems)
Accurately estimate development efforts
Adhere to software development standards and code formatting guidelines and help other software engineers do the same
Maintain a focus on security of data, systems and code
Respond quickly to outages and production issues
Assist production support team in troubleshooting production issues
Create and maintain development related documentation (requirements, design, test, instance maps and other reference documents)
Create technical diagrams for use in documenting environments, designs, architectures, processes, data flows, data models, etc. in a clear and concise way.
Assist other developers with resolving complex problems and when they need "a second set of eyes" on code
Mentor other developers in improving their design and coding skills
Research technologies and products to determine functionality, suitability, security and reliability as well as compare costs
Stay abreast of new technologies and keep up to date on current security and vulnerability trends
Make recommendations for improving processes and software
Interview job candidates for automation positions
Ensure work status and progress are communicated clearly to management and the rest of the team
Communicate risks, issues and possible delays early and loudly
Work directly with users to gather and clarify requirements
Participate during meetings and contribute to problem solving
Take ownership of issues to ensure they are resolved or until they are successfully handed off to the appropriate owners
Demonstrate applications and functionality to users and managers
Conduct development testing and assist with system testing and UAT as needed
Perform code reviews to help other developers improve their work
Constantly improve code usability, reliability and supportability
Anticipate situations applications will encounter in advance and ensure the code handles them before problems exist
Work unscheduled hours as required

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
10+ years' total development experience
10+ years' SQL development experience (Strong SQL skills are a must)
7+ years' .NET development
4+ years' MVC & web (HTML5, CSS3, Ajax, JavaScript) experience
2+ years' development in at least one non-Microsoft programming language (Java, Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP, etc.)
Ability to install and configure various operating systems, databases, and applications
Experience doing full lifecycle development in a dynamic enterprise environment
Experience with Unit Testing Framework / Tools
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps
Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and Internet Protocols
Passion for software development and technology
Strong understanding of security principles and a passion for developing secure code
Experience with JSON and XML
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desire to learn the latest technologies and the ability to learn them quickly
