Position Responsibilities
The Cloud Infrastructure Delivery Engineer will work within the Infrastructure Delivery team to develop and deploy new infrastructure and platform solutions to improve the Deltek Cloud platform and delivery outstanding availability and performance to Deltek's Cloud Customers.
This individual is responsible for Deltek's Cloud platform services including: the design and delivery of new cloud infrastructure in collaboration with the Architecture team, the delivery of ongoing project work related to continuous improvement of operations, proactive management of infrastructure, rectification of issues before they become incidents, resolution of incidents in a fast and efficient manner when escalated, identification of problems underlying incidents/resolution of root causes, and identification of opportunities for improvement in every facet of operations.
Implement and manage cloud system deployments including the following:
Environment Provisioning
Image Management
Promotion Process
Data Transfers, Backup/Restore
HA/DR
Develop tools and scripts to automate infrastructure management
Evaluate new technologies to improve efficiency and service availability.
Provide advanced technical solution design to meet business requirements
Troubleshoot complex problems, provide software fault diagnosis resolve operational issues, and interact with vendors, etc.
Define and document system architectures, systems configurations, and technical operational processes and policies
Create and implement monitoring, procedures, tools, and standards related to system, and application security (e.g. intrusion detection, denial of service, configuration change, cross site scripting, SQL injection, OS patching, etc.
Qualifications
Computer Science/Engineering Degree (or Computer Science Masters)
7+ years experience in a technical field
5+ years experience as a system administrator
4+ years experience administering SaaS Based products
Diverse range of technical and operational interests and capabilities, including Microsoft, IIS, Active Directory, LAMP, SQLServer, virtualization, monitoring, automation technologies
Extensive experience with public cloud provider Microsoft Azure
AWS (Amazon Web Services) - plus factor
Senior level experience with Windows Server 2012, 2019, SQL Server 2012, Linux, IIS, Apache
Extensive experience on Infrastructure Provisioning Automation using Terraform
Extensive experience on Infrastructure Configuration Management using Ansible
Strong scripting skills: Python, PowerShell
Expert knowledge of DNS, Load Balancing, DB Clustering, and High Availability as it related to all tiers of architecture
Experience with enterprise monitoring and management tools
Ability to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements
Passionate about technology and solving IT operations-focused problems
Must be detail oriented, task driven, and have excellent communication skills. Customer service focus is key
Ability to work effectively with staff, peers, and others in and outside the organization to accomplish goals, objectives and to identify and resolve problems
Willing to work on US hours
