The Payroll Specialist under GSS HR is responsible for the end to end management and processing of Australia payroll for all employees and the provision of a high-quality comprehensive payroll service ensuring that salaries and employee entitlements are paid in accordance with local legislative guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Process all end to end pay transactions (including complex requirements) in a timely, accurate and confidential manner; understanding the policies related to each payroll input and strictly adhering to the payroll calendar.
Run payroll and validate payroll register, headcount and bank file
Upload bank file and ensure necessary approvals from authorizers are secured on time.
Send payslips to employees on a timely manner.
Ensure accurate payment of wages, superannuation and government taxes
Manage any payroll related queries from People and Culture/ Employees.
Prepare/Extract post-payroll reports for submission to People and Culture and other stakeholders.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual government remittances/claims (CPF, NS, Maternity, Paternity, Child Care, IR21, IR8A) in a timely and accurate manner.
Processing, reconciling and clearing month end figures.
Calculate annual leave and sick leave provision.
Assist with payroll reporting.
Maintain payroll records and file all payroll-related paperwork following each pay period
Prepare final pay computation or any payroll-related computation (over/underpayment) of employees as requested
Promptly handle employee enquiries on payroll and other employee benefit matters
Ensures that company meets its taxation and other legislative and statutory obligations through processing and preparation of returns, forms, etc as deemed required
Conduct analysis, problem solving and testing as appropriate/required for effective payroll delivery to ensure a safe and reliable payroll system.
Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc management reports based upon information within the payroll system.
Contribute to the ongoing delivery and improvement of the payroll system and supporting systems and services.
Contribute to current payroll processing arrangements and provide recommendations for improvements
Documentation of additional process and/or continuous update of work instructions
Ensure data integrity in the system through accurate update of payroll information in the system
Follows audit procedures
Participate in audit as assigned by Team Manager.
Liaise with areas of Finance, Human Resources and the wider business with a view to ensuring that customer needs (commercial and individual queries) are facilitated professionally with appropriate levels of support.
Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential and secure at all times.
Openness to learn other countries' payroll processes and act as a back-up as necessary.
Key Qualifications:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in a related field, with at least 5 years' solid working experience in an end to end payroll processing or compensation and benefits roll in a HR back office for a multinational company.
Experience in handling Australia payroll is required.
Strong skills in MS Excel.
Experience with SAP
Must be analytical and good with details.
Can work with minimal supervision.
Ability to cope with ambiguity and change and maintain high level of professionalism when working under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills within a multi-cultural business environment.
