Job Description
Purpose of the position:
The Patient Value Access Specialist is responsible for creating awareness of the Specialty medicine portfolio of the company through educating HCPs on products and Takeda's support services. Responsible for key activities including identifying local experts and 2nd Tier specialists including Medical Oncologists, Hematologists and Gastroenterologists disseminating information in a timely manner to all HCPs involved in the patient flow; gathering of insights, brand and Patient Assistance Program presentation and work closely with the Patient Value Access Lead; identifying opportunities for brand and PAP expansion to Specialty Medicine Portfolio. In addition, this position must deliver relevant KPIs on the execution of programs & activities.
In close collaboration with Medical, Alliance Management, Health Systems Liaison (HSLs) and Ethics and Compliance Manager; he/she would be responsible for executing the value proposition of Takeda's innovative life-changing treatments, and disseminate the value messages to relevant stakeholders.
List of Duties
Meet with new & existing HCPs & KOLs in Medical Oncologists, Hematologists and Gastroenterologists, with the intent of:
Introducing Takeda's interest in this new therapeutic area
Mapping & profiling of HCPs
Assessing the clinical, environment & patient treatment pathways
Identify potential speakers
Discuss Takeda's Patient Assistance Program
Collect & communicate relevant KOL feedback in accordance with all local & regional guidelines
Identify & develop robust & long-term professional relationships with the healthcare community, particularly KOLs, Oncology/Hema/Gastro Centers
Provide & communicate clinical/ scientific data with the support and coordination with MSL
Provide fair and balanced information on the benefits & risks of products
Foster collaboration & partnering between KOLs and the company
Obtain feedback & advise about company products from KOLs through one-on-one interactions or group discussions
Provide support/coverage for the medical information of the company at professional association meetings
Support & assist in the efforts to identify and define medical educational needs of the HCPs
Initiate in the conduction of promotional activities for HCPs such as product presentations, focus group discussions etc.
Close collaboration with cross functional team
Co-creation of brand strategy
Recommend KOL development in coordination to Medical team
Ensure compliance of all activities and secure necessary approvals, prepare contracts to the said activities and completeness of documents post activity
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in any 4-year course
At least 3 years of ethical/pharmaceutical sales experience
Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
Able to work independently
Must work closely with Patient Value Access Lead and other cross functional team
Familiar with Key Account Management business model
Good communication/presentation skills
Ability to convert complex scientific information into lay terms and effectively communicate such information to HCPs; scientifically competent to be able to read, interpret & sell from a clinical paper
Complexity and Problem Solving
Comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, finds solutions to tough problems, has broad interests, highly curious
Delivers results, resourceful, has significant presence
