This addition to our team must be organized, experienced, proactive, collaborative, and willing to take on the responsibilities necessary to make things happen. This role will report to our Senior Employment Counsel, APACx, and will be based at Uber's office in Manila.
What You'll Do
Provide ongoing support for Uber's APAC and EMEA employment legal team, including managing law firm engagements, assisting attorneys managing large litigation, and responding to small scale litigation
Provide administrative assistance to attorneys in the team, including by managing day-to-day calendaring / filing of matters
Update and maintain legal playbooks and guidelines based on applicable laws, rules, and regulatory guidance
Assist in the creation of trainings and decks to educate the business and legal colleagues on employment legal issues
Review and process legal documents
Implement litigation legal holds
Maintain confidential files and record keeping systems
Update legal library, reference manuals, and resource materials
Conduct background investigations
Draft correspondence and assist in special projects, including fact investigations
Basic Qualifications
Experience, or ability to learn, Uber's internal tools and run queries needed to respond to claims brought by driver or delivery partners
Experience in an administrative role such as a case assistant, legal assistant, or experienced customer service agent who has assisted with regulatory or litigious matters (eg, LERT)
A qualification from a reputable university
Either experience in the legal profession, or an ambition to study to become an attorney or paralegal
Strong understanding of litigation process or a desire to learn
Adept at creating and executing searches across vast repositories of data
Proficient with Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Acrobat Adobe
Highly motivated, efficient, organized, and laser-focused on the details
Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable collaborating as a team and working independently to get the job done, no matter how big or small the project
Calm in deadline-driven situations; self-reliant and able to prioritize workload
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Be able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice, and comfortable working across numerous timezones to support our international team
Preferred Qualifications
e-Discovery background
Experience with Salesforce
Some knowledge about SQL, queries, or desire to learn is a big plus
Other web-based applications such as Box, DocuSign, JIRA, Zoom, Google Suites (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms, Gmail, Calendar)
