Job Description
We are looking to hire an experienced Same day Surgery (OP) Medical Coders / Senior Medical Coders with coding certifications (COC, CCS or CPC).
Responsibilities:
Review SDS medical records and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Assign and sequence codes accurately based on official guidelines for coding and reporting.
Assign level I and level II modifiers correctly.
In-depth knowledge on Ambulatory Surgery cases such as GI procedures, Laparoscopic surgery, Orthopedic surgery and other services in the ambulatory setting.
Thorough understanding and application of medical necessity, APC / OPPS for processing claims
Adhere to coding clinics and CPT assistant.
Checking on the account status on regular basis if kept on hold and follow up with respective leaders if needed.
Knowledge of 3M coding and abstracting software, Epic, Power Chart or other EMR.
Requirements:
1 to 7+ Years' experience in Medical Coding
Education - Any Graduate (Must be a Nursing Graduate)
Successful completion of a certification program from AHIMA or AAPC.
Familiarity with ICD-10 CM & PCS codes and procedures
Solid oral and written communication skills
Able to work independently.
