The Markets Regulatory Controls Sr Analyst is an intermediate management-level position that is responsible for monitoring, governance, oversight and regulatory reporting activities in coordination with the Compliance and Control team. The overall objective of this role is to develop and manage the implementation of regulator's cross-border exemption framework.
Good understanding of procedures and concepts within Markets Regulatory Control and a basic knowledge of other areas in order to understand how they relate to Regulatory Controls. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub-function/ job family. Improves process efficiencies in support of unit objectives. Requires a basic conceptual/ practical grounding in policies as they apply to the business. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Influences decisions through advice, counsel, facilitating services to others or through joint accountability for volume, quality and timeliness of end results.
Responsibilities:
Exercises full responsibility over regulatory requirements through adherence of Cross-Border Exemption Framework.
Performs detailed review of client records to ensure qualifying conditions and ongoing requirements are met by new and existing arrangements
Coordinates with the Business and other Stakeholders on the progress of reviews and report findings related to executed qualification process.
To ensure timeliness of review based on agreed timelines as prescribed by regulator through guidance of Citi's internal compliance team.
Recommends new work procedures with limited scope of impact.
Ensures information and documentation comply with local regulation and Citi standards
Deals with variable issues with broader potential impact.
Directly impacts the area through contribution for delivery of end results and contribution to planning, budget management and formulation of procedures; influences resource planning.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
