Position Summary
The NOSC Team Lead is responsible for coordinating the ongoing operations of the Network Operations Security Center. The NOSC actively monitors for cybersecurity threats through security consoles, threat intelligence, and user reports to initiate investigations and incident handling when required. The Team Lead of this group will coordinate team assignments and schedules, verify security monitoring is ongoing, and communication is taking place within the organization where needed. The Team Lead will also work as a liaison between the NOSC and other elements of the IT organization, such as the ServiceDesk and Network and Infrastructure Security Teams.
Responsibilities
Proactively monitor the environment to detect and mitigate cybersecurity-related issues before they occur.
Monitor security consoles related to email, antivirus, web browsing, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
Respond to security alerts and handle incidents as quickly and efficiently as possible and escalate incidents to other groups as needed.
Handle assignments such as tracking security training compliance, managing phishing simulations, and coordinating the team during security exercises.
Coordinate team assignments, schedules, and manage communication and information sharing between the NOSC and other internal groups.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or any relevant industry experience and certifications
3+ years' of experience in working in SOC or other cybersecurity roles
With cybersecurity certification such as Security+, CySA+, or GSEC
Technical knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to IT Infrastructure including endpoints, networking, and common security threats
Practical knowledge of email, internet, and malware security threats
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Experience with team leadership and coordination
Proficient in problem solving, troubleshooting, documenting, and reporting
