Position Overview
As a Network Engineer under CDCT Managed Services, you will provide level 2 & 3 break/fix Network support for various clients, in addition to performing remote management tasks for these clients. There will be both tool as well as user reported incidents, escalating issues from junior teammates as needed. Works directly with the client to communicate progress on tasks and provide recommendations to their infrastructure. The department is not limited to network support, either - expect to work with data center, data protection, virtualization, collaboration, security, storage technologies as well.
What you'll do at Insight:
Implement, configure, and support all enterprise network systems globally
Operate as tier 2/3 break-fix network environments.
Work within on-call rotation for 24x7x365 MSP.
Provide daily operational management of client hardware and software configuration.
Maintain network configurations to provide performance monitoring/tuning of all global systems.
Monitor network performance, diagnose network issues, and perform emergency and scheduled maintenance.
Fulfill engineering requests related to moves, adds, changes and deletes on client systems.
Fulfill engineering requests to setup VPN tunnels and make firewall changes.
Maintain advanced software configuration and recommend new applications and equipment, including service updates and patches for all components.
Functions as technical liaison and advisor for clients.
Executes analysis of client environments and remediation tasks based on industry best practices. Implements formal written summary and action plans along with root cause analysis reports for clientele management.
Formulate, provide; maintain advanced documentation for various business critical technologies in the form of diagrams, configuration settings, usage policies; operating practice.
Perform other duties as assigned.
General requirements:
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, Maintenance, and Support of local and wide area networks (LANS/WANS) and associated applications.
Installs, configures, upgrades, troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves problems at an understanding level on servers and shared network devices; troubleshoots and resolves software and hardware problems on basic networks.
Responds and solves customer issues utilizing technology tools, procedures, and training through awareness of service offerings and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
General system troubleshooting. Utilized all available internal and vendor resources to identify and resolve issues within customer service level agreement and expectations.
Maintains current knowledge of core service offerings and SLAs. Understands all Logical service offerings to better support customer as well as engaging opportunity in expanding any service offering to better service our current customers.
Monitor trends and problems to spot a pattern and recommend new standards or process changes.
Creates and maintains technical and process documentation. Propose Knowledge changes and update existing process documents.
Collaborate with Internal resources, customer, third party vendor to solve complicated issues or as part of a project.
Provides technical expertise and guidance to Services technicians.

What you'll need to join Insight
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, other related IT/computer studies, ECE or other IT related field, from four-year College or University
At least 5 years of experience in Network Administration/Engineering, NOC operations, Remote troubleshooting, Customer management and other related IT services experience.
At least 3-4 years of experience in solid Network Engineering capacity.
Has technical experience with Palo Alto Network Technologies, F5 or Cisco
Familiarity with Meraki technology is preferred.
Able to thrive in an environment characterized by rapidly changing requirements and an ongoing focus on meeting operational objectives
Strong written and verbal English communications skills
Able to successfully manage multiple priorities
Proven ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Strong commitment to company values and operating principles
Preferred
CCNP Enterprise, Palo Alto Networks certification, Industry recognized certifications. ITIL, others.
Experience supporting or working in an Enterprise and/or Global Managed Services environment.
Background in Cisco networking.
