Job Summary:
This position is responsible for administering, operating, & maintaining standards for communications & networking technologies (voice, data, video, etc.) and all associated governance controls.
This role is integral in coordinating activities and tasks associated with running a highly reliable network which is very critical to achieve quarterly and yearly business goals.
The IT Communications & Networking Technology owner will be responsible for recommending, analyzing, testing, and maintaining software and hardware as required for the company.
Duties and Key Result Areas:
Communications Technology Management
Responsible for coordinating and delivering 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support for all installed communications network and related applications.
Administer & operationalize governance for convergent communication networks (i.e. voice, data, video). Implement standards, policies and guidelines for use. Provide system administration support for servers (OS, HW and utilities). Configure and upgrade systems in accordance with standards and project / operational requirements and according to standards and guidelines.
Assist superior in developing network capacity plans (coordinating with business applications and user groups). Gather information needed to do budget forecasting and tracking for network related infrastructure.
Daily System Monitoring and Maintenance
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all network links, LAN, WAN, IP phones, 2-way radio systems up to end-user devices. Coordinate with outsourced vendors and on-site support personnel if needed. Review all monitoring logs and ensure all client SLAs are being delivered.
Ensure that applicable regulatory directives are complied with e.g. NTC, and current privacy legislation.
Maintain all Network-related servers ensuring both security and functionality at all times.
Maintain systems including but not limited to the anti-virus, back-up systems, wireless systems, VPN, laptops, and scanning systems.
Help prepare monthly status reports for management including bandwidth utilization, service request activity, security incidents and other such data.
Leads/Performs off-hours maintenance and provides off-hours support of information systems and infrastructure as needed.
Recommend hardware and software improvements which may enhance the reliability and performance of current systems.
3. Lead & Manage Networking Projects
Initiate projects using 5-gate approach.
Deliver perfect project (on-time, on-budget, in scope)
4. Train & Develop Outsourced Partners
Coach, mentor, and develop outsourced partners to deliver EDC SLAs.
Establish strong partnerships with other IT leaders and BUs.
5. Network and participate in industry groups
Represent the company in various telecommunication industry groups.
Establish strong partnerships with Telcos and similar providers.
Leverage industry contacts to drive high availability networks.
Exploit communications and networking technologies to drive business growth.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Electronics & Communications Engineering (or equivalent course)
Possession of current professional license, board exam and/or IT certification(s) a plus
5 to 8 years' experience in a LAN / WAN environment managing IT projects and operations
Experience in network design, implementation and support
Experience with enterprise level monitoring products
Experience in Network Security
Operating Systems - Windows Server, clustering, Network load balancing
Terminal Server Management
Microsoft Office Communications Server, Instant Messaging
Technical presales experience is an advantage
Excellent customer skills
Good communication skills
Nice to have - ERP Systems knowledge
Willing to work in Mandaluyong City (Work-From-Home setting due to pandemic)
