Summary:
The Network Administrator role will be responsible for monitoring, administration, and break/fix support of Dexcom's Network Infrastructure. You will be working with a team of IT professionals in delivering 24x7 IT support services to users across all sites. The Network Administrator will utilize his knowledge, skills and abilities to resolve incidents with respect to agreed SLA, participates in improvement of our current processes and utilize our plethora of tools and systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively monitor and analyze a wide variety of dashboards, alerts, and software to identify issues as they arise.
Perform general remote trouble shooting and attempts to resolve incidents based on technical knowledge, SOPs, and expertise within agreed upon SLAs.
Complete scheduled intermediate level maintenance, management, and network administration activities on network devices or other configuration items managed.
Escalates issues to higher tier of support. Collaborate with Engineers to determine the effective course of action. Escalating complicated issues to management, other IT resources, third parties and/or vendors, as appropriate.
Participate in improving process and knowledge base articles.
Other duties or task may be assigned from time to time.
Reports directly to operations/shift IOC Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
2-3 years of Network Administration experience
Experience supporting Cisco and Extreme Networks
Strong knowledge on WAN environment preferably on BGP and OSPF protocols
Experience working with monitoring tools specifically on SolarWinds and NetBrain
Solid knowledge and experience in Networking (IP connectivity, routers, switches, VPN)
Knowledge of network cabling, network classification and network topology
Knowledge of Firewall administration specifically using Palo Alto.
Other technical skills and experience in one or more of the following technology areas:
Application troubleshooting background
Data Network (Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls)
Solid knowledge and experience supporting Windows Server/Linux
Knowledge on server virtualization fundamentals
Experience working with remote access tools and understanding of security protocols compliance.
Familiarity with ITSM concepts including Atlassian (Confluence/Jira)
Good multi-tasking skills working with numerous monitors, several communication channels, and multiple engineers/teams
Ability to work under pressure handling time sensitive Production incidents
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a regulated environment
Industry recognized certifications. ITIL, CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+ others.
Experience supporting or working in an Enterprise NOC and/or Global Managed Services environment.
Education Requirements:
Typically requires 4-year technical college degree such as Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineer/Science, BSc/Ba in Information Technology.
