Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Business Development Manager will evaluate and conduct an analytical assessment of business development initiatives with the objective of determining strategic fit to Food Group's short and long-term strategies. He/ she will also lead and manage business development projects with involvement in the following key areas: planning support, concept development, project feasibility and/or assessment. The Business Development Manager is also accountable for the transition of approved project/s for operational implementation.
1. Business Opportunity Development
1.1 Assist in evaluating strategic business opportunities for organic businesses, projects, consulting engagements, partnerships, alliances, mergers, or acquisitions
1.2 Analyze and evaluate findings of market research or analysis projects, assess the viability of alternative opportunities, and present recommendations to immediate superior and key executives.
1.3 Provide key executives with regular quarterly reports highlighting financial performance, business overview, and strategic moves of competitors in the food industry.
2. Project Feasibility & Transition
2.1 Leads and facilitates concept development of business development initiatives and ensure collaboration of various ad hoc members for presentation to approving body
2.2 Ensure thorough and accurate viability analysis of program or project feasibility to assist management or project proponents in assessing the strategic fit and in arriving at a sound business decision.
2.3 Ensure the smooth and timely transition of approved projects to key operating teams.
3. Networking and partnerships
3.1 Ensure collaboration and synergy with corporate support groups in the Aboitiz and Food Group in evaluating the viability of potential projects and various alliances.
3.2 Build a network of potential clients, partners and industry leaders (government or industry associations) for potential business transactions.
Qualifications
Education:
● A university degree holder with discipline in Economics, Business Management or Finance.
Experience:
● Minimum 7 years solid experience in business development (M&A, expansion) or any related discipline at least in a supervisory capacity
● Financial analysis and business planning experience is a must
● A background in corporate and/or operational planning, financial modelling, investment banking, management consultancy, or operations management
● Experience in the food-related industry is an advantage
Licenses:
● CPA/CFA/PMO a plus
Other Requirements: * Thorough knowledge in Strategy, Planning and Organizing
In-depth knowledge in Financial Analysis and Modelling
In-depth expertise in both oral and written communication
Thorough knowledge in project management
Good negotiation skills (agencies national & local, potential partners)
Good collaboration skills
Working knowledge in people management/ development
In-depth knowledge in office productivity tools (Google and Microsoft applications)
Good presentation skills
