Analyze medical records for completion and assign deficiencies as needed
Work involves the analysis and final processing of all incomplete and delinquent medical records distributed or assigned by the HIM staff
Work is performed under the supervision of the Health Information Management Supervisor; however, the individual is expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment
Analyzes all discharges for compliance with documentation standards, completeness and accuracy in accordance with departmental, hospital, and federal regulatory and accrediting guidelines
Records deficiencies on the computer for tracking and reporting purposes
Removes deficiencies from the computer upon completion of the medical records
Track individual daily productivity
Responsible for advanced clerical functions and the analysis of medical records completed upon discharge, including the analysis of all discharges for compliance
In-depth knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices
Recognized as possessing expert knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values related to a specialty or specialties
Ability to operate word processing equipment, dictation and transcription equipment, and other equipment as specified, and to resolve issues as necessary
Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values related to a specialty or specialties
