The Markets Finance Support is a finance professional focused on providing financial performance support to APAC FSO Markets Finance Advisor. The Markets Finance support will support MFA to team and collaborate with key stakeholders, in particular APAC FSO finance and operations, to ensure effective and consistent finance support to markets leadership. In addition, the Markets Finance Support will help support financial elements of key processes such as the Revenue Plan and Account Plan, account structure maintenance, maintain new business development codes and report on cost vs budgets that pertain to marketing and business development. Essential Functions of the Job: Markets Finance Support Responsibility Areas: Support financial planning and performance management activities o Presentations of financial performance. Create insightful and impactful messaging regarding market finance results. o Data integrity. Ensure one version of the 'truth' o Strategic & annual planning activities. Support the MFA to deliver analysis, modelling and advice to support strategic and annual planning processes. o Performance against targets, including forecast expectations. Analyse data throughout the year on Total Engagement Revenue, back-log, sales & pipeline, trends, and annualized impacts, to support forward looking insights and recommendations on how to achieve optimal financial performance o Account BD investment decisions. Support the MFA to model scenarios, including margin impact, and advise to support decision making Support financial elements of key processes, covering o Strategic planning, e.g. MLP o Revenue and Account Plan Support the implementation of markets finance initiatives in the region, covering e.g. o Essentials, PowerBI, interim markets reporting and margin initiatives Advise on cost budgets o Work with finance budgeting/cost controlling team to enable markets leaders to make effective investment decisions and to discharge their budgetary responsibilities Financial delivery excellence and teaming o Team with the MFA and Markets Operations to ensure that we always deliver exceptional client service to markets leadership Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities: Strong analytical skills coupled with decision making capabilities are essential for the Markets Finance Support role. Common areas where the Markets Finance Support will apply these skills are: . Support the implementation of markets finance initiatives across APAC FSO. . Assessing the drivers of financial results with constant focus on improvement and rapid course correction where necessary . Analysing data in order to form and communicate a crisp view of the financial metrics. . Continuously advising team on expected financial performance vs. plan based upon analytics such as trend analysis and modelling of forward looking scenarios Knowledge and Skills Requirements: Client service: . Able to embed ECS (Exceptional Client Service) practices across all markets in the region . Focused on analysis, advice and solutions that drive the continuous improvement of financial performance . Drives interactions that build trust, managing expectations with stakeholders . Teams with finance colleagues and other functions to enhance service to clients, and to leverage leading practices Analysis, modelling & advice: . Forms and communicates a clear and concise view of financial performance . Synthes and communicates detailed financial information in support of an effective decision making process . Utilizes sound financial practices and seeks leading practices to support operational decisions Understanding of the business: . Understands Vision 2020 strategy and applies constantly to analyze and advise on financial performance . Has a deep understanding of the drivers of financial performance and applies constantly to analyze and advise on progress against targets . Knowledgeable of EY capabilities and services . Demonstrates appreciation and respect of varying cultures - both corporate and geographical Supervision Responsibilities: The Markets Finance Support will ensure Exceptional Client Service to all markets, and provide an efficient and consistent approach that aligns to the overall area and regional objectives. Whilst not having direct supervisory responsibilities, critical to success will be teaming with a large number of colleagues to enable effective and efficient client service at all times (e.g. regional finance, operations, business development, etc.) Job Requirements: Education: Graduate and/or professional certification in a business related subject matter (i.e. Accounting, Finance) is required to perform this position. Experience: Experience providing commercial / markets insights to leadership stakeholders is essential. Experience in financial and data analytics. Strong knowledge of MS Excel is strongly preferred. A deep understanding of the drivers of financial performance in a market facing environment and an understanding of EY's external services and of the area/regional markets landscape would be beneficial. Location: Must be able to operate on the time zone of the APAC FSO MFA.
