In consultation with the Director and the gallery team, the Marketing and Communications Officer will develop and implement strategic plans to
advance the Museum's brand and support the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
The position shall also perform the following:
Steer the editorial direction, design, and production of the Museum's media and advertising program to key target markets.
Oversee the production of all Museum collateral materials and create awareness of the programs including special events and fundraising efforts.
Manage front desk tasks to meet strategic objectives and best serve visitor needs
Manage the operations of the Museum Shop, including consignments, sales, and inventories.
Oversee the effectiveness and tracking of marketing efforts, with a strong emphasis on data analysis, reviews the results, and provides strategic oversight accordingly.
Collaborate with other departments/units in the AdMU community to acquire information to be used in support of various marketing projects.
Oversee the development of all museums online and offline communications.
Serve as one of the Museum's primary external communicators, and cultivates and maintains working relationships with media.
Oversees the overall look and feel of the website and other digital marketing efforts, especially social media.
Bachelor's Degree in Communica+ons, Marke+ng, Public Rela+ons, Journalism or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 3 years of professional experience creating and implementing successful integrated marketing communications plans.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
Experience in managing diverse marketing, communication, and promotional functions
Experience in managing volunteers or interns.
Excellent project management skills and ability to plan and organize multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to create budgets and manage projects with budgets.
Ability to understand and negotiate pricing alternatves with vendors.
Ability to understand, synthesize and act on information or instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, spreadsheet, or schedule form.
Demonstrates initiative, creativity, flexibility, resourcefulness, and calculated risk-taking
Strong attention to detail
Clear, succinct, and positive verbal communication; professional, enthusiastic, engaging spokesperson, ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of target audiences including media contacts, board members, donors, and current and prospective vendors.
Exemplary written communication skills; adept at writing in a variety of voices and styles; eagle-eye editor and proofreader.
Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with staff, board, volunteers, and vendors.
Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with key contacts in print, radio, and television.
Ability to quickly earn the respect and support of staff and key stakeholders.
