Position Summary:
The Sr. Security Engineer performs perimeter and internal security implementation, security assessment, firewall management and intrusion detection prevention for the core security infrastructure for the company within a global multi data center 24x7 operation. This role requires strong trouble-shooting skills, security and network knowledge as well as a firm grasp of current events and new technologies in the security space.
Key Responsibilities
Managing the ongoing support and configuration of all elements of the company's Security Infrastructure, including firewalls, IPS, web proxies and VPN devices.
Optimizing the performance and availability of security network and end-user infrastructures through the application of best practices such as performance monitoring, capacity planning and trend analysis and recommends improved methodologies.
Providing leadership for the architecture, engineering, deployment and support of the security network infrastructure.
Monitoring vendor interaction with company's technology; identifies issues and provides guidance/support through to resolution. Ensures the timely delivery of required services. Maintains liaison with equipment manufacturers' and other vendors' representatives to ensure satisfactory support levels.
Assisting in the development and implementation of company's technology strategy, including goals, priorities and policies relating to company's information and communications management.
Recommending overall strategy for the planning, use and coordination of networking technology and services including the evaluation of current and proposed systems.
Required Skills
Requires a minimum of 8-10 years security engineering and operations experience, with a minimum of 3 years management experience in an international company environment.
BA/BS in a computer related field or security related certification
Solid multi-site Security Architecture and Engineering skills required.
Preferred Skills
CISSP certification (or other relevant security certifications)
Advanced working knowledge and implementation skills of Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, CheckPoint, SourceFire, Bluecoat and IPSec/SSL VPN devices and associated technologies
Site to Site VPN design experience
Experience with anti-threat sandboxing solutions
Experience with IPS/IDS technologies
SIEM tool work experience (Qradar, Splunk. Etc)
Knowledge in LANs/WAN technology, Internet technology, experience in routing and network protocols (especially TCP/IP)
Strong ability to produce technical documentation
Advance knowledge of Security logging and reporting systems.
Skills in developing security/network policies, procedures and documentation required.
Proven skills in managing a Security Engineering team with a group of highly skill technical employees required with effective oral, written and communication skills are required
