As a member of the Legal Departments Marketing, Digital, and Intellectual Property group, the attorney will work closely with the marketing departments and other business teams of three global cruise brands to negotiate strategic agreements and otherwise provide legal support for marketing initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Primarily support the marketing departments of three cruise lines; provide support to other departments in connection with any promotions and intellectual property related projects;
2. Provide strategic legal advice, structure transactions, negotiate and draft agreements. Typical transactions will range from standard contracts to complex, high-dollar-value agreements;
3. Address legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, consumer complaints government inquiries, and handling pre-litigation legal disputes;
4. Review consumer facing advertising and marketing communications, including TV, radio, print, digital, and social media, and draft terms and conditions and disclosures;
5. Conduct trademark searches and clearances and maintain international trademark portfolio;
6. Train business groups, including but not limited to conducting training seminars, creating legal guidelines, legal alerts, and other training initiatives;
7. Participate in the Legal Departments effort to enhance legal services to the company by offering legal digital technology and tools, including the contract management system, and identify potential efficiencies and opportunities for the legal department to improve operations;
8. Engage in direct communications with internal business clients and outside vendors;
9. Keep current on regulatory, advertising and intellectual property issues;
10. Participate in audits, specialized training and compliance initiatives; and

QUALIFICATIONS:
List the minimum level of education and experience required to perform the work at the entry level of the job.
JD from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials.
Admission to practice law in at least one state.
4+ years of experience
A deep and broad understanding of commercial transactions, advertising law, trademarks, and intellectual property matters.
In-house counsel experience preferred.
