Our Platform Engineering group has a number of services teams that combine to support a whole range of client organisations; providing IT support across the full range of technologies and applications. Our Linux focused group is made up of 60 plus service professionals across the Australia and New Zealand region, and we're continuously growing. This role is open for any Datacom office in Australia.
About the Role
As a Systems Engineer with a focus on Linux, your role is to manage and maintain the Linux and Unix server environments for our customers, you will provide both proactive and reactive support to ensure our clients business services are maintained. The managed services team(s) are engaged by our customers to maintain the availability and reliability of their core infrastructure. You will be using Automation tools such as Ansible on a day-to-day basis and may be required to assist customers with Application rollouts via Ansible at times.
In conjunction with the rest of the Managed Services team, you will be accountable for the timely action of customer service requests, which are logged in our ITSM tools, within agreed service levels, whilst maintaining accurate and timely updates to technical documentation and ticket notes. You will also be required to operate under the guidelines of defined processes and procedures and are expected to ensure effective and professional communication with all relevant parties
Requirements
Day one requirement is for an ongoing datacentre migration, mostly VMware VMs, but some Physical servers too (builds and migrations).
Linux administration/consultancy (5 years minimum experience):
RHEL6/7/8
RH Satellite server
Ansible automation
Experience in oracle RAC environments
Multipathing
LVM
Network bonding
VMware (beneficial)
Datacom
