Positions in this function include those who monitor and operate computer and peripheral equipment: review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for large-scale computer systems. Evaluate system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Provide expertise in software systems programming, operating software applications, consulting on complex projects/existing applications, timely completion of scheduled jobs, and overall operating systems. Also includes overseeing environments' health and facilitation of high severity incidents to improve the state of service availability and continuity. Develop processes and activities that focus on restoring service after an incident occurs. Document all hardware, application, facility, etc. problems and take corrective action as required. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed and serves as a resource to others
Primary Responsibilities:
Primary contribution involves being responsible for IT Infrastructure comprising of high end technology ,wherein the accountability will include 24x7 running of Linux/Unix servers, consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value
The domain accountability includes Linux Server Administration
Automation and optimization of existing and prospective IT environment through scripting [Shell / Python / REST API / Perl]
User Administration and Account Management LDAP
Clustering Technology is an added advantage [Veritas cluster (VCS) or RedHat Cluster]
Periodic Quality Assurance/Server Hardening exercises for newly built servers
Involvement in periodic activities as Rapid Recovery [RR],Hardware & Firmware upgrade, OS Patching ,etc
Participate in On-Call and NOC duties on periodic basis
Well versed with ITIL concepts such as Incident, Change and Problem Management
Analyzes and investigates
Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

Required Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
Experience of working on NFS servers
Familiar with ticketing tools in order to track down incidents and break fix request
Familiar with client/server troubleshooting related to different type of servers [SendMail , FTP, SSH, Network etc. ]
Good knowledge on LVM/VxVM
Good knowledge about SAN concepts, setting up, multi-pathing (device mapper) & troubleshooting SAN issues from the Linux OS side
Good knowledge about UNIX system files, boot process and run levels
Knowledge of Linux security & compliance
Skills on configuration of network and related services at operating system level like NFS,NIC Bonding, Sendmail, SSH and other TCP/IP services
Ability to troubleshoot servers through console
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in Troubleshooting on virtual servers
Knowledge of vSphere /Virtual Center
Knowledge in TSM
Knowledge in Monitoring daily backup and related issues
Knowledge of ILO/RAS
Technical Skills:
Knowledge in RHEL5, 6, 7, 8 System Administration & VMWare ESX
Soft Skills:
Good troubleshooting experience
Good written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Should be flexible for working in shifts
Ability to communicate with onshore and requesters
Ability to work in a process oriented environments
