Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance/Support Engineer Lead is responsible for the testing, evaluating, maintenance, and support of software and systems. He/she is also responsible for leading a group of other Quality Assurance and Support engineers and to assist the Manager in delegating his/her work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluates and tests new software applications according to business and functional requirements
Provide documentation for various test scenarios and cases
Perform API level testing, system testing, functional testing, and UI testing
Applies test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies
Performs reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements
Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements
Develops and maintains end-user documentation for internally developed applications
Maintains the systems once they are up and running
Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment
Develop project proposals and drive their implementation
Provide guidance and establish and evolve effective business goals, strategies and processes
Provide on-going coaching for the growth and development of team members
Protects operations by keeping information confidential
Qualifications:
Must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
Knowledge of the major computer languages is a must, including C, C++, Java, .NET, Python, BEA, WebLogic, WebSphere, J2EE, JBoss, ADO, Perl, HTML, JSP, Java script, Web services, SOAP, XML, ASP, PHP, MySQL, SQL server, Oracle, UNIX, Linux, Redhat Linux, STL, XSLT, OWL, AJAX, J2ME, J2SE, C#
At least 2-4 years of experience in QA/Testing
Skilled at diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving issues in software systems
Good understanding of web protocols
Familiarity with browser compatibility, load, and W3C accessibility testing and test automation
Experience with implementing and auditing test methodology and QA Standards
Ability to setup and maintain test environments (virtual environment experience preferred)
Team Player
