PROJECT BASED: 6 MONTHSJob SummaryThe Lead Nursery Custodian shall oversee the daily nursery activities in a designated nursery project area in support of various landscape installation and maintenance projects of Filinvest Group of Companies. He/She shall prepare the annual work program and activities of the Project Nursery assignment within the directions set by the Landscape Nursery Manager. He/She shall also identify and implement innovative and cost-efficient nursery products and services. He/She shall help identify sturdy, and priority shrubs, groundcovers and trees that can be included in the Landscape Design plantlist.KEY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nursery Technical Management
Regular coordination and validation of nursery production targets with Landscape Services subgroups.
Organization of work groups and preparation of work schedules to attain nursery production
targets. * Preparation of periodic reports on nursery production.
Perform time and motion studies of each nursery activities to derive the most cost-efficient unit cost to lower production cost without sacrificing product quality.
Evaluation of nursery procedures and activities to identify and adopt best nursery practices.
Develop quality standards and specifications applicable to nursery plant materials and products
Identify labor-saving devices needed for nursery operations
Conduct research on local and international standards applicable to nursery operations.
Develop and produce innovative and quality nursery products according to approved international, local and company standards
Perform periodic benchmarking of competitors (Nursery stock prices, best practices and techniques, etc.)
Tree Service Technical Management
Regular coordination and validation of tree service targets with concerned business unit, planning group, permit group, and other related groups.
Organization of work groups and preparation of work schedules to attain tree service targets.
Preparation of reports on tree service projects
Perform time and motion studies of each tree services to derive the most cost-efficient unit cost to reduce project cost without sacrificing service quality.
Evaluation of tree service procedures and activities to identify and adopt best practices.
Develop quality standards and specifications applicable to tree services.
Research, identify and evaluate labor-saving devices needed for tree services.
Conduct research on local and international standards applicable to tree services.
Develop cost-effective methodologies and quality tree services according to approved international, local and company standards.
Perform periodic benchmarking of tree service providers (tree service rates, best practices, techniques, etc.).
Nursery & Tree Service Administrative Management
Efficient supervision, monitoring and control of daily nursery and tree service activities.
Evaluate contracts related to nursery operation and tree services.
Efficiently manage stock levels of supplies, materials, tools and equipment for nursery operation and tree services.
Conduct periodic maintenance of nursery and tree service tools and equipment.
Design and conduct technical training modules for nursery and tree service manpower.
Monitor adherence of nursery and tree service contractors to approved company contracts and to government prescribed labor standards and guidelines.
Nursery & Tree Service Financial Management
Preparation of annual nursery budget
Preparation of periodic reports of nursery financial expenses
Preparation of cost proposals and financial reports on tree service projects
Job Qualification:
Graduate of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry and other Agriculture related courses
Holder of PRC license preferred but not a requirement
