Due to Covid-19 restrictions, our Manila based team are all currently working from home.
The Jr Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for REVIEWING, DESIGNING, and BUILDING test implementations to QA and key Merlot individuals. This includes but not limited to creation of manual and/or automated software test design,
implementations, deployments and maintenance. He/She will also be responsible for testing and delivering high quality solutions for the merlot.aero suite of products in coordination with Merlot's QA process and methodology.
Principal Accountabilities Key Result Areas :
Testing of Merlot Aero Product suite
o Reviewing, designing, creating and executing test cases and test scripts for web, windows, and mobile applications using any automation tool like Robot Framework, Telerik, Selenium, UFT, Appium, Fit/Fitnesse, and/or LoadRunner.
o Reviewing, creating and maintaining test scripts using C#, Java, and/or VB.NET (and related scripting languages) to address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retestsor usability in preparation for implementation.
o Ensuring that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified,documented, tracked and resolved in the defect tracking system.
Guiding and teaching the less experienced quality assurance engineers and developer in quality aspects.
Proactively identify risks with the testing.
Proactively identify improvement in product development- and quality
assurance process.
Ensure 100% test coverage on the assigned test execution.
Manage test environment creation and maintenance.
Coordinating testing efforts within the team as well as help other teams out
when applicable.
Stay current with researching new testing technologies and improving
existing solutions.
Organize and prioritize tests.
Manage stories in terms of testability and clarity for requirements.
Recommend solutions or work around to defects when appropriate.
Recommend application improvements for the user.
Skills:
Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development process
Proficient in Object-Oriented Programming
Proficient in .Net platform and C#, Java, VB Programming language
Proficient in test processes, methodologies and standards
Strong working knowledge of testing fundamentals such as TDD & BDD
Proficient in writing, executing and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including but not limited to Telerik, Selenium, UFT, Appium, Fit/Fitnesse, and/or LoadRunner.
Knowledgeable working with relational databases such as MS SQL
Knowledgeable in using version control systems like SVN and git
Required :
Ability to create clear, concise detail-oriented test plans/cases.
Ability to understand and create test scripts from specifications or verbal communications.
Ability to liaise with development, project management and customer support.
