Main Job Purpose
The Communications Consultant is primarily responsible providing communications support to deliver against stakeholder requirements aligned to the global and local strategy. The consultant will support the Manager in developing content for internal and external CGI materials and assisting in the implementation of local plans against global initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Writing and editing responsibilities:
The Consultant will be responsible for supporting the Manager in developing content for the following categories:
Marketing and communications content for CGI's internal and external communication platforms
Business writing for employee-related announcements and materials
Copywriting for press releases, award nominations, and online and print banners that are catchy and attractive
Feature writing for campaigns which may include employee-related articles or social clubs
Copyediting and proofreading content which includes the above and other collateral for digital or print media
Measures for the Consultant include:
Ensuring messages are clear, concise, and use the CGI tone of voice
Ensuring that grammar, spelling, and punctuation are correct and appropriate
Ensuring details such as formatting and links are not broken, while dates and times are accurate
Account responsibilities
Support business partners in executing local and global communications plans
Deliver BAU requirements such as the daily newsletter, monitor CGI global news, manage announcements on MS Teams, and promoting the CGI brand within the business.
Track and monitor requests received through the Philippines Communications Requests page.
Manage deadlines per agreed dates
Track and document recurring content and administrative requests into trackers, work instructions and process documents
Ensure that processes are followed per documentation, and raise improvements whenever appropriate
General responsibilities
Build a positive relationship with stakeholders
Attend meetings related to the global and local Marketing and Communications requirements.
Participate in the business' strategic events such as the Annual Tour and quarterly All Hands Meetings
Complete timesheets, file leaves and take e-Learning requirements per defined deadlines
Document tasks and time completed on a daily basis through the team tracker
Adhere to company policies, team-defined processes and procedures
Actively participate in MSAP and provide feedback and process improvement suggestions to the team
Escalate issues and problems to the Marketing and Communications Manager as required
Security Responsibilities
As CGI members, everyone is responsible for the security of the information that they use or manage, and would ensure that appropriate measures are taken to preserve its confidentiality, integrity and availability for use. The following are basic security obligations:
Be aware of one's obligation under legislation governing data protection, computer misuse, copyright protection, intellectual property, the retention of public records and the common law;
Act with propriety in the use of the business units' information resources;
Familiarize with and conform to the Information Security policy and related standards, guidelines, etc.
Report immediately to one's Manager and Security Business Partner, any breaches or suspected breaches of the CGI Information Security policy.
Change in role
Any change of scope or internal transfer needs to be agreed with the Marketing and Communications Manager
The handover period should be a minimum of 1 month but will be agreed with the Marketing and Communications Manager at the time of the change
Responsibility for ensuring the handover is carried out in accordance with the documented process- all aspects of the service must be covered to avoid service failures
On completion of the handover period the new incumbent will be deemed to be fully responsible for service delivery
Any issues arising from the handover, together with recommendations for resolution, should be discussed with the Marketing and Communications Manager if there is a potential for service failure
EDUCATION, SKILLS, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication, Communication Arts, Integrated Marketing Communication or other related courses
With 2-3 years of experience working in Marketing and Communications disciplines, preferably in an IT or professional services company
Excellent English skills, both verbal and written
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher
Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills, with keen attention to detail
Flexible to work in a highly-dynamic, demanding environment with tight deadlines
Background in branding, graphic, and layout design is an advantage
