Configuring new virtual machines, instances, and services
Rolling out new systems and services
Defining new standards, processes and integrations
Writing complex scripts and automation
Administering backup systems and replication
Responding to alerts from our monitoring systems and handling incidents
Maintaining infrastructure automation scripts (e.g. Ansible)
Performing disaster recovery tests
Enforcing company security standards
Documenting systems and services, and undertaking continual and ongoing improvement to our procedures, processes and standards
Assisting with deployments
Assisting our developers to resolve issues on projects
Administering systems and ensuring a high level of organisation and structure within our IT infrastructure.
Excellent Written and Spoken English
10+ years' commercial systems administration development experience
4+ years' experience with Windows based systems
4+ years' experience with Linux based systems
Extensive experience managing network infrastructure, hosting environments (both LAMP and Microsoft based)
Experience managing virtualised server and cloud environments (we use Docker, Hyper-V, Amazon AWS and Azure)
Experience managing databases (we use MS SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL)
High level of competency with PowerShell, Bash, and Javascript (a background in software development is advantageous)
A solid understanding of networks and security
Strong research, information elicitation, organisation, analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to thoroughly test and evaluate systems
Experience managing backups, monitoring, firewalls, SIEMs, disaster recovery
Experience ensuring and managing secure systems
Experience with change management processes
Experience writing and maintaining system documentation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Quiet and distraction-free workspace
Modern and reliable computer with quality microphone, headset and webcam for clear communication
Fast and reliable internet connection (minimum 1 Mbit upload speed)
Comfortable using time tracking software (Time Doctor)
Available to work from 7am to 4pm PH time (1 hour of breaks included)
Happy to be on call for alerts 24x7 in case systems go down, and able to respond to incidents
Happy to work after hours where certain changes must happen at night.
